Mada is seeking a consultant with experience of providing a range of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) training (i.e. fertilization, irrigation, integrated pest management, seeds and varieties selection, etc…) for open field and greenhouses’ farmers, conduct field-monitoring visits and reporting.
The selected consultant will work closely with the farmers, mainly youth and women, to train them on different agricultural topics, create a healthy training environment and provide support as necessary.
Main responsibilities
- Develop a clear outline of sessions based on the needs assessment developed by Mada
- Provision of onsite 16 training days, 6 hours per day divided between theoretical and practical, for open-field and greenhouses farmers
- 8 training sessions for open-field farmers and 8 for greenhouses farmers. 20 farmers will be included in each group.
- The consultant has to share the training curriculum that will be used to deliver the training sessions.
- Agree with Mada on the training approach and training curriculum.
- Develop pre and post-tests to assess the capabilities of the beneficiaries and to monitor their progress during training sessions.
- The consultant has to monitor the attendance of beneficiaries and report any issues to Mada’s Project coordinator.
Minimum Qualification and experience
- Master’s degree in agricultural engineer
- Full adherence to Mada’s mission and vision, as well as Ethics Code.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in delivering similar training.
- 2-3 years of experience working in NGOs in the livelihood sector.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Having previous working experience in Minnieh-Donnieh is a plus.
