BACKGROUND
Mada is seeking a Coach to provide business development support to 5 agroecological enterprises in Akkar (Ouweinat, Menjez, Rahbe, Qobayat, Al zwarib), provided with Mada with grants with the aim of advancing agroecology both upstream and downstream of the farmer.
JOB SUMMARY
The selected Coach for this role will take on the responsibility of providing tailored technical business development support to the enterprises, aligning with their specific needs, and ultimately guiding them in developing comprehensive business plans.
The coaching program will consist of 5 one-on-one sessions per enterprise, conducted at the enterprises' locations, totalling 25 sessions lasting 3 to 4 hours each.
The entire coaching program for all enterprises must be completed within a maximum duration of two months. During these sessions, the Coach will employ a participatory approach, actively engaging the enterprises in the tools and business plan development process.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Coach is expected to:
- Conduct a needs and capacity assessment with the enterprises during the first coaching session. This assessment will form the basis of the other sessions and of the development of a business development plan which includes an assessment of the current situation of the enterprise, its business development goals, and its business development roadmap.
- Develop a clear outline and coaching agenda based on the needs and capacity assessment conducted and conduct the remaining sessions accordingly, ultimately resulting in a business development plan per enterprise.
- Submit a report about the mission, with any relevant recommendations and important considerations.
Support to enterprises is expected to start by beginning of April 2024 and to last for two consecutive months.
Deliverables:
- Capacity and Needs Assessment Questionnaire and its findings.
- Outline of coaching sessions per enterprise.
- Business Development Plans (one per enterprise)
- Final Evaluation Report of the mission
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in business, agribusiness or any relevant degree
- 5 years of experience in delivering similar coaching sessions
- Demonstrated experience in providing business development support to enterprises;
- Knowledge of relevant technical aspects such as sustainable farming practices, agroecology, and agricultural market dynamics
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
- Previous experience working with NGOs on similar missions is preferred
- Experience in working with enterprises in similar contexts in Akkar and North Lebanon.
