Warchée also supports builders, architects, engineers, landscape architects, and urban planners by facilitating their access to projects and surrounding them with well-trained female teams.
Job Summary
Warchée is currently seeking for an Atelier Supervisor to join the team, mainly based in the Tripoli workshop, with the flexibility to manage and collaborate with the supervisor of the Beirut Workshop.
The Atelier Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop facility. The primary goal will be to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the workshop, meet production targets, maintain a safe working environment, and deliver high-quality products/services to customers.
Main Tasks and Duties:
Workshop general operations management:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of workshop women carpenters in Tripoli and Beirut and support staff to achieve optimal productivity and efficiency.
- Coordinate between Management/Design/Technical/Production teams on timelines, material & design requirements
- Plan and schedule work orders, ensuring timely completion while adhering to quality standards.
- Monitor workshop resources, including equipment, tools, and materials, to maintain their availability and functionality.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures to streamline workshop processes.
- To be involved in Framework and analysis of projects and studies, from humanitarian and technical contexts.
- To be involved in handover to clients and order delivery receipt.
Quality Assurance and Safety:
- Enforce strict adherence to quality control measures, conducting regular inspections to ensure products/services meet established standards.
- Enforce safety rules at the Atelier (daily reminders).
- Conduct safety training sessions for workshop staff and promptly address any safety concerns or incidents.
Training and Development:
- Coordinate between the training of the apprentices following the curriculum and the project timeline and the trainers
- Coordinate periodical exams for the apprentices
- Identify skill gaps among apprentices and arrange relevant training programs to enhance their capabilities.
- Foster a learning environment that encourages continuous improvement and innovation.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory levels and manage the procurement of workshop supplies, spare parts, and materials with the procurement officer.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to ensure stock accuracy.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure all workshop equipment and machinery are regularly serviced and in good working condition.
- Facilities' Maintenance Follow-up like Generator, Drinking Water, Water & Wastewater System.
- Coordinate with external vendors for repairs and maintenance as required.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports on workshop performance, including productivity, efficiency, quality, and safety metrics.
- Control attendance of the daily team and report it, and provide feedback to staff & suggest improvements.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation related to workshop activities, such as work orders, inventory records, and maintenance logs.
- Coordinate processes for project evaluation, document and share lessons learned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in management or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
- Proven experience in wood arts or related field workshops’ management or supervision.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Sound knowledge of workshop operations, safety protocols, and quality control practices.
- Proficiency in using workshop tools and equipment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Fluent in Arabic and English, French will be a plus.
Remuneration and Duration
- Full-Time Job : 5 days per week
- Salary range is : 1,100$ -1,250$
- Duration: for one year renewable / Start Date : 1st of September,2023
