Field Coordinator

Context: The Field Coordinator will be in charge of activities in the project “Protection and promotion of women’s right, and women’s social and economic empowerment “, funded by European Union and implemented in partnership with René Moawad Foundation, DOT, CFUWI and FTL. The project aims at empowering women in the Akkar and Donnieh regions, through facilitation of access to existing services, instrumental for increasing their participation in economic growth and their understanding of women’s economic rights. Through a series of training, workshops, and events, the project seeks to empower women community activists, members of women committees and cooperatives, as well as owners and managers of SME’s, with knowledge and skills of ICT (Information & Communication Technology) and develop women cooperative and small businesses management skills. In addition, the project seeks to raise women’s awareness on gender issues and increase their access to economic rights. Under the direct supervision of Mada’s Project Coordinator, in close coordination with the Technical Advisor, the Field coordinator will be in charge of coordinating in the field the implementation of project activities in 8 villages of Akkar.  The Field Coordinator will be based in Hrar Mada’s office.   Interfaces Internal interfaces -      Executive Coordinator -      Project Coordinator -      Financial and administrative team -      Mada’s team in Hrar External interfaces -              Program Director -              RMF Field coordinators -              FTL and CFUWI experts -              Women committees, associations, cooperatives -              Municipalities’ representatives    The overall responsibilities: Coordinate project activities at the field level, ensuring quality implementation and achievements of results. Prepare all logistical matters related to training sessions and meetings. Establish and maintain positive working relations with municipalities and relevant stakeholders to ensure cooperation and success of project implementation. Follow up on the field on implementation of small grants with concerned beneficiaries. Purchase of items needed for project implementation following donor’s financial requirements. Monitor project activities and prepare timely field progress reports. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and final progress reports (financial and operational). Keep accurate recording and archiving of all activities, including financial records, data, pictures, attendance sheets, activity reports, correspondence, etc. Identify shortfalls and obstacles in the implementation of planned activities that would require immediate action and propose relevant recommendations and corrective measures.   Experience Required: Bachelor degree in project management, development or social studies, or any other related field. Experience in project management preferable with NGO background. Experience in community mobilization in a deprived context. Good knowledge of the area/region and its local customs. Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills. Ability to plan and prioritize own workload. Strong monitoring and reporting skills. Ability to work under pressure. Computers: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet. Languages: Arabic, English and/or French. Driving licence.
