Monitoring Assistant

Job Summary

The Monitoring Assistant reports directly to the Project Manager, with matrix management to the MEAL Officer.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support the MEAL Officer and Project Manager in developing/improving/updating tools for data collection, processing and analysis, while making sure gender considerations are integrated in all the tools (e.g., gender disaggregation, gender-specific targets).
  • Collect data on regular basis through in person and remote modalities using post-distribution monitoring tools (PDMs), surveys, focus group discussions, spot checks, and other tools.
  • Support distributions to dairy producers and conduct follow-up/monitoring visits.
  • Supervise enumerators (if any) working to collect data.
  • Report to and alert the project team on a regular basis regarding any anticipated project issues, risks and any emerging opportunities and threats to the project implementation.
  • Ensure all MEAL-related data and files are properly organized and stored.
  • Receive and handle feedback and complaints from beneficiaries, share with MEAL Officer and Project Manager.
  • Any other task requested by the MEAL Officer and Project Manager.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in similar tasks (MEAL)
  • Good interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and maintain strict deadlines
