Technical engineer - Support to SMEs

Mada association in response to the explosion is implementing a twelve-month project funded by CCS and in partnership with CCFD-Terre solidaire aiming at rehabilitating and supporting 33 SMEs severely affected by the blast.

The technical coordinator will contribute to the final selection of the 33 SMEs and be in charge of the assessment of needs and supervision of the worksites and progress of works report drafting.

 

Mission 1: Identification of 33 SMEs and Need assessment

 

The technical coordinator will contribute to the identification by shortlisting between 15 and 20 SMEs eligible to our initiative and help in the final selection of 33 SMEs affected by the blast using a set of criteria.

It’s included field visits and interviewed with SMEs owners and employers.

 

Once the 33 SMEs are selected, a detailed need assessment will be prepared at 4 levels:

  • Rehabilitation
  • Equipment
  • Working capital / raw materials
  • Individual support – business management, marketing, synergies 

 

At the end of this phase, 33 contracts stating the support provided will be drafted and signed by both parties.

 

Deliverables:

  • Short-list table of affected businesses
  • Comparative analysis of short listed businesses
  • Draft contracts with SMEs owners

 

Mission 2: Supervision

 

The technical coordinator will be in charge of:

  • monitoring the execution of the works in the 33 places (over four phases),
  • ensuring that equipment and consumables match the specifications
  • Preparing a detailed work plan and time schedule and ensuring deadlines are met

 

Deliverables

  • Field visit reports
  • Delivery receipts

 

  • Mission 3: Progress of works reporting

 

 

The technical engineer will be in charge of the work progress reports drafting. The ideal candidate should have the ability to communicate clearly and in a very concise way for all the stakeholders.

 

Deliverables

  • Weekly site reports detailing the progress in all the SMEs shortlisted
  • Monthly report to showcase the progress of the whole project. This report should be of technical aspect
  • Any other report requested from Mada association

 

Education and knowledges required

 

  • Education required: Bachelor degree in Civil engineering or Architecture with previous experience in rehabilitation and quantity surveying and developing BOQs
  • Experience in NGO is an added value
  • Computer literacy: office, Autocad
  • Languages: Arabic and French. English is an added value
