Trainer conflict Management
In the framework of the project “Cooperation and dialogue for peace between municipalities and young Lebanese and Syrian in Akkar“ funded by French Embassy, Mada is seeking a trainer in conflict management. The trainer will be in charge of developing and implementing a one day practical workshop on conflict management, to empower Lebanese and Syrian groups in 5 villages in Akkar with the skills to enable them to manage the crisis between the Lebanese and the refugees and to build an environment for dialogue with the aim of keeping the civil peace.

Mission 1: Design workshop on conflict management
ü Design an appropriate workshop to meet the project’s objective and reach the results, including all training material
ü Draft a training program (agenda)
Objective of Training
Building capacities of steering committees and Syrian & Lebanese’s youth regarding conflict management and mediation techniques
Expected Results
- Youth and steering committees used effective communication skills and interpersonal techniques to defuse or manage conflict
- Problems and conflicts within the work team are negotiated and resolved using appropriate interpersonal techniques and communication skills
- Youth and steering committees negotiated and mediated conflict situations
- Youth and steering committees recognized and responded positively to conflict situations, they also required an ability to assess situations involving conflict and negotiation strategies for conflict resolution.

- Dealing with difficult people, managing dispute / Managing Hostility and Aggression
- Healthy and unhealthy ways of managing and resolving conflict (play role)
- Integrating conflict management tools into development work
Mission 2: Implementation of a one-day workshop for steering committees & Syrian and Lebanese’s youth
ü Communicate in Arabic language (without the use of any foreign words).
Mission 3: Evaluation of Workshop and Reporting
Evaluation
ü Design an evaluation form to receive feedback from participants on the training and to assess the change in knowledge of conflict resolution and in a more general way the effectiveness of the workshop
ü Read the workshop evaluation forms and provide short summary analysis on results/improvements realized by the workshop
Reporting
ü Compile all the above in a short activity report, including:
- The workshop program / agenda
- Proposals of the youth and their interventions
- A short evaluation on the training, its content and results, including the number of participants that judged the training to be beneficial
Education and knowledge required
ü Bachelor in Management, Education or Social Science
ü Profound knowledge of conflict resolution
ü Experience in interactive and participatory training techniques
ü Experience in designing trainings and developing training material
ü Experience in the design questionnaires, evaluation forms and pre- and post-test
ü Computer: Office Pack
ü Languages: Arabic, English
Skills required
ü Excellent social and interpersonal skills
ü Experience in awareness raising and in motivating deprived communities
ü Good knowledge of the area and its local habits
ü Excellent written and verbal communication skills
ü Involvement and commitment Acting in a diplomatic way, representing Mada’s non-religious, non-political and non-sectarian principles and respect for diversity and gender
