Health Promoter

Health Promoter will be part of the medical mobile unit (MMU) team operating in the area of Bekaa Valley. He/She will be coordinating and implementing health promotion activities such as basic hygiene, chronic diseases prevention, psychosocial care, and wellbeing, as well as a promotion of general health care. The geographical outreach for MMU includes three districts in Bekaa Valley - West Bekaa, Rachaya and Baalbek – that is situated precisely within the catchment area of partnering health facilities and it is covering approximately 30 Informal Tented Settlements (ITS). All project activities are focusing on improving the access, provision and quality of health care services for Syrian refugees.  Health Promoter will be in charge of educational and awareness activities related to better health care practices that lead to better health and general well-being of beneficiaries, their families, and communities they live in. Additionally, Health Promoter will be informing beneficiaries about MAGNA services in order to improve access to and awareness  of quality health services available to them.  MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION Actively promote the availability of MAGNA medical services. Conduct daily individual or group health promotion sessions to patients, their families and medical team. Work in close collaboration with MAGNA MMU team in order to ensure that appropriate terminology and behavior are communicated to target groups. Participate in the creation and dissemination of any educational material needed for the health promotion activities Collect and report information gathered with HP activities on a daily/weekly basis. Carry and keep records and statistical updates, report all health promotion activities for further evaluation and transparency and further evaluation of activities. Prioritize and develop appropriate activities or changes within established activities in order to follow the overall activity goal and project objectives. Collect needed information related to specific health and living conditions of the population, in particular, to identify the most vulnerable populations to target On request perform any other additional duties given by the Health Promotion Supervisor in order to allow the activities to be carried out optimally and to support medical team of MMU.   REQUIREMENTS  Skills Minimum 1 year of previous experience in a similar position (health promotion, medical, education, social work, community work) with other NGO’s is highly desirable. Excellent communicator. Punctual, organized and reliable. Flexible and able to work in multicultural and sometimes stressful environment Very good management skills
