-Oversees the work activities of all pharmacy technicians and orderlies.
- Dispenses prescribed medications to patients accurately.
- Reviews physician prescriptions for drug interactions, contraindications, and dosage accuracy.
- Ensures compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulations governing the distribution of medications
- Ensures that medications are stored properly and that stock levels are maintained.
- Collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Provides drug therapy advice, guidance, and education to healthcare teams.
- Participates in rounds, offering input on appropriate drug use, alternative therapies, and adjusting dosages.
- Educates patients on the safe use of prescribed medications, potential side effects, and any precautions.
- Answers patient inquiries related to medications and address concerns about drug therapy.
- Maintains accurate records for all medication dispensed, controlled substances, and pharmaceutical inventories.
- Monitors and reports adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
- Controls the proper delivery of drugs (packaging, preparation, labeling).
- Controls drugs expiry dates and take appropriate action.
- Controls the occasional drug selling to out-patients.
- Ensures that all medications meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Assists in the training of pharmacy interns, residents, or technicians.
- Oversees the proper reception and storage of drugs as well as the remaining stock.
- Ensures proper repackaging and labeling of some drugs.
- Conducts periodical medication floors inspection.
- Distributes and maintains updated records of all controlled drugs.
- Compounds specific drugs and control the preparation of solutions.
- Contributes in the Continuous Education Programs held in the hospitals
- Performs duties related to chemo-preparation room.
- Reviews chemotherapy protocols for appropriateness.
- Informs the Chief Pharmacist about the stock and problems related to the IV division.
- Replaces the IV technician during his absence and when needed.
- Stays on-call during pharmacy closing hours.
- Assists the Chief Pharmacist in conducting clinical trials.
- Assists the Chief Pharmacist in preparing drugs related guidelines and pharmacy reports

- Bachelor in Pharmacy or Doctor in Pharmacy diploma.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is a plus.
- License in Pharmacy.
