The research will map the presence and assess the general situation and main incidents affection SaWC in Beirut and Mount Lebanon. The consultant will provide recommendations to inform Makhzoumi Foundation (MF) and UNHCR SaWC programme.
5. Methodology
The research is expected to employ a mixed method approach consisting of literature review, focus group discussions, outreach and site visits (day and night time) with SaWC and families of different profiles, and a series of key informant interviews (KIIs). MF may accompany and guide the consultancy team in some of the field visits.
6. Scope of work
The consultant will:
- Provide oversight of the project deliverables and project team during the duration of the consultancy
-Develop a timeline of deliverables
- Develop the methodology of the research, including tools, forms and the list of guiding questions for the focus group discussions.
- Liaise with MF during the implementation of the reseach, weekly meetings will be held with the staff for the updates.
- Provide deliverables as per the project proposal
7. Monitor and Progress Controls
(1) Methodology and monitoring framework, including delivery periodicity
(2) An Interim Report l: Desk review
(3) An Interim Report II: Mapping and Qualitative Assessment
(4) An Interim Report III: Monitoring and Evaluation Framework
(5) A final research report including specific recommendations to inform the MF-UNHCR SaWC programme.
The final report will be in English and will have a maximum of 30 pages + additional documents.
8. Knowledge and Experience
-Degree in social work or related field
-Strong understanding of refugee issues in the current Lebanese context
-Knowledge about Beirut and Mount Lebanon areas
-At least 4 years of relevant experience working with children, refugees and/or vulnerable populations.
