Medical Doctor specialized in Endocrinology

Responsibilities of the endocrinologist:

• Apply medical knowledge and skills for diagnosis and prevention of medical conditions related to the endocrine system.
• Carry out medical consultations and prescribe the necessary treatment respecting Makhzoumi Foundation protocols.
• Keep the patient and/or their family informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment plan and checking if they have understood it well.
• Manage patients with diabetes and follow up on their treatment and prescribe the medications that are available in the PHC pharmacy as per the protocols of the Ministry of Public Health.
• Assure general compliance with infection control and hygiene standards.
• Use the health information system to fill in the patient’s medical record.
• Monitor the best possible medication history for every patient and use the electronic prescription and perform the medication reconciliation for every patient and coordinate with the pharmacist.
• Participate in trainings and continuous education activities whenever requested.
• Know and ensure all Makhzoumi Foundation medical protocols are followed and implemented, checking universal precautions are followed at all times.
• Ensure professional confidentiality is respected.
