Sawc Senior Case Worker

Job Overview/Summary: As part of a process of capacity building, Makhzoumi Foundation is seeking a Senior Child Protection Case Worker. The senior case worker will be responsible for working closely with street and working children at high risk of harm in and around Beirut/Mount Lebanon. She/he will be responsible for conducting house visits; follow up and monitoring of children’s working hours on the street in line with case action plans, close coordination with relevant external agencies for service provisions and referrals to national mechanisms to report cases of children at high risk of harm. Internally the senior case worker will be trained for the future responsibility supervising a case worker and working closely with street educators, apprenticeship and community development officer to provide appropriate support for children and their families. The senior caseworker will conduct all steps of the case management process for an assigned number of individual children vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, neglect and violence and their families in this process.   Major Responsibilities: Identify cases of street and working children at high risk of harm; Provide case management services in line with the national standard operating procedures for case management; Conduct house visits, follow up on the street, update case action plans and forms accordingly; Provide technical supervision and support to the case worker; Review case worker files accordingly; Maintain up to date documentation of case management files Ensure that all high risk cases are immediately reported to the direct line manager (CP SaWC Manager) and dealt with appropriately; Maintain regular communication with external referral agencies for service provisions (UCAP, shelter etc); Remain abreast of developments in the field of service provisions this includes maintaining and updating spreadsheet with mapped services and focal points for service provisions; Participate actively in weekly case management team meeting; Communicate regularly with CP officer and SaWC manager for updates on achievements and challenges in the field; Collaborate closely with the Psychosocial team (Street educators), apprenticeship and cash for work officer on cases, as well as provide support as and when requested; Draft reports-internal case management report, juvenile judge reports, resettlement referrals,   Other Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to the SaWC manager and  liaising with external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programs Other duties as assigned by the supervisor and SaWC manager to enable and develop programs Professional Standards All MF staff are required to adhere to the values, vision and mission of the Makhzoumi Foundation and to the Makhzoumi Foundation code of conduct. Familiarity with the National Standard Operating Procedures for Child Protection and/or the Child Protection Practical Guidance document. Awareness of the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (http://www.cpwg.net) Excellent reporting skills   Key Working Relationships: Position Reports to: SaWC Deputy Manager and Manager IRC. Indirect Reporting:  Protection Coordinator/ Unit Manager Makhzoumi Foundation   Job Requirements: BA in Psychology, social work, human rights, or related degree preferred Minimum of two to three years’ experience of implementing child protection programs preferably psychosocial activities,  social work or case management, in humanitarian or development settings; Demonstrated experience of planning and conducting children’s PSS activities; Ability to work on the street supporting psychosocial activities for street and working children; Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children; Experience in managing and supporting staff development; Strong drafting and reporting skills; Knowledge and experience in using and updating databases; Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English mandatory;  Proficient in Microsoft Word and excel; Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting; Staunch advocate of child protection and child rights;   Desirable not essential Experience working with street and working children; Experience working with Syrian, Dom and Turkmen communities; Experience working with Child Friendly Spaces.
