Project Summary: The Lebanon Community Resilience Initiative (LCRI) is a project funded by USAID/OTI. LCRI provides strategically targeted support to advance peace and stability in Lebanon. **Please note: Only Lebanese citizens are eligible for this position.** Position Summary: MSI seeks an Accountant to be part of a multi-disciplinary team of program development, procurement, finance, and other professionals to establish and maintain a strong system and management control for human resources, logistics, office procurement, office accounting and information systems. The Accountant is responsible for correctly and accurately reviewing and recording of project expenses and other accounting transactions, for assisting to ensure accurate and timely reporting of all necessary financial and accounting materials and information, as well as to resolve any such issues. The position is located in Beirut. The Accountant will report to the Finance and Administration Manager. Responsibilities: Detailed review of payment requests with associated invoices and other supporting documents for accuracy, completeness and conformity with project’s policies and procedures  Prepare accounting vouchers and record transactions in the accounting system (QuickBooks) Draft payments and submit for review by FAM and approval and signature by OM and/or Chief of Party (COP) Check expense reports, advance reconciliations and other documentation submitted by staff to ensure that it complies with USAID and MSI regulations and requirements. Be aware of and ensure compliance with Lebanese laws concerning taxation, labor, benefits, and contracts.  Assist the Deputy Finance and Administration Manager (DFAM) on financial, administrative, HR, and payroll matters making sure proper making sure proper documentation is included in files. Be aware of and support Finance and Administration Manager (FAM) on legal practices as well as legal obligations, Lebanese or per USAID/MSI policy, in conjunction with the appropriate authorities Carry out other duties as assigned by DFAM/FAM. Perform other tasks as requested by the Chief of Party or Operations Manager. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or relevant field. Minimum two (2) to three (3) years’ experience as an accountant; of which at least one (1) year experience on a donor funded project. Experience using Excel and Quickbooks. Knowledge of FAR, ADS, and USAID procurement regulations desired. Exhibit the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and impartiality. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (writing and speaking). Highly organized work habits, attention to detail. Fluency in English.
