Background Information
MARCH is a Lebanese, nongovernmental, non-profit organization based in Tripoli, North Lebanon working to promote social cohesion and personal freedoms while advocating for equal rights through its work in conflict transformation and peacebuilding in marginalized areas. While keeping youth as the main focus of the mission, MARCH provides cultural and vocational trainings aimed towards youth empowerment and reintegration into society.
Through our work, we aim to develop the resilience of marginalized youth and help them to build better a better future while encouraging constructive dialogue and fostering cross-communal acceptance and respect to create sustainable reconciliation.
Summary:
MARCH is seeking a soft skills trainer with a bachelor degree in Socio-Economic Development, Social Studies, Education or any related field with a minimum of 5-7 years of fieldwork experience to conduct:
1- Sessions on Conflict Transformation and Peace Building covering informal debating, negotiation, positive communication, informal mediation for vunlerable group of people.
And/Or:
2- Gender-focused sessions for women emphazising character building through enhacing communication, relations, positive influence, role in society and dealing with people.
And/Or:
3- Team Building activities focusing on working within a team, accepting other opinions, working around differences and finding common grounds.
The trainer should be ready to start operating as of immediately till end of December.
Description:
The sessions’ framework lies under the youth development program where MARCH is looking to engage a trainer to conduct sessions on Conflict Transformation and Peace Building tackling the following topics: Informal debating, negotiation, positive communication, informal mediation, and conflict resolution for a vulnerable youth group in Tripoli.
Responsibilities:
The trainer is expected to deliver the following:
- Work plan for developing the sessions, including strategy and proposed methodologies, as well as quality assurance plan;
- Interactive, engaging teaching matters ex. Discussions, games, activities.
- Successful facilitation of the sessions based on the adopted methodology and proposal
- Evaluation of participants based on evaluation forms
- Technical advice and support to participants during the sessions
- Conduct the evaluation of the sessions
- Report on the conducted sessions
- Final report on the implementation of the tasks after finishing the all the sessions
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate ability to interact with vulnerable youth in a vulnerable community
- Demonstrates integrity by modelling MARCH values and ethical standards
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Positive, constructive attitude and consistently approaches work with energy
- Demonstrates openness to change and ability to receive / integrate feedback
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic languages are required

Requirement and Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Socio-Economic Development, Social Studies, Education or any related field.
- 5-7 years of experience and above
- Ability methodically and meet deadlines
- Previous experience working with NGOs is a plus.
