March is seeking a dynamic and experienced Barista Trainer to design and deliver hands-on barista training to youth/adults as part of our vocational training program in Tripoli. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a passion for mentoring and building capacities among individuals with limited employment experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a practical, skills-focused barista training curriculum with a strong emphasis on latte art and modern coffee-making techniques.
- Train participants in:
- Advanced milk frothing and steaming techniques
- Free pour latte art (e.g., hearts, rosettas, tulips, swans) and etching methods
- Contemporary brewing methods and coffee presentation trends
- Espresso calibration and grinder adjustment
- Deliver engaging and interactive hands-on training sessions that prioritize technique, creativity, and consistency.
- Guide trainees in refining their artistic expression and attention to detail in drink preparation and presentation.
- Monitor trainee progress and provide individual feedback to support skill development.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of all coffee equipment during training.
- Support trainees in developing essential soft skills for the hospitality sector, such as communication, teamwork, and time management.
- Collaborate with the program team to align training content with employability and industry standards.
- Contribute to post-training evaluations and progress reports.
Requirements:
- More than 6 years of proven experience as a professional barista, with strong skills in latte art and modern brewing techniques.
- Prior experience as a trainer, mentor, or team leader, particularly in hospitality or vocational settings.
- In-depth knowledge of specialty coffee preparation, espresso machines, grinders, milk texturing, and aesthetic presentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt training methods to various learning styles and literacy levels.
- Familiarity with youth development or experience working with vulnerable populations is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Language: Arabic required; English is an asset.
