Kahwetna is seeking a skilled and experienced Trainer in emotional intelligence, self-awareness and character development, value-based leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution to design and deliver intermediate to advanced-level workshops for youth in Tripoli, with a specific focus on value -based education.
The trainer will play a key role in equipping young people with the values, emotional tools, and social skills necessary to contribute positively to their communities, particularly in areas historically affected by tension, such as Jabal Mohsen and Beb El Tebbeneh.
The trainer must have hand-on experience in the field as well as being conflict-aware, emotionally intelligent, and able to navigate sensitive community dynamics with respect and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, facilitate, and continuously refine tailored workshops on conflict transformation and self-development.
- Deliver training modules covering themes such as emotional intelligence, self-awareness and character development, value-based leadership, nogotiation, and conflict resolution...
- Foster a safe, inclusive space and engage youth in structured discussions and reflective activities that support critical thinking and personal growth.
- Mentor participants to become responsible, values-driven role models in their communities.
- Keep up with regional and local dynamics to stay up to date with the types of activities and content presented during sessions.
- Maintain sensitivity to local tensions and respect the historical conflict dynamics between Jabal Mohsen and Beb El Tebbeneh.
- Provide feedback to the program team on workshop impact, participant progress, and areas for improvement.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Social Work, Education, Sociology and Anthropology or a related field.
Proven experience in designing and leading training in emotional intelligence, self-awareness and character development, value-based leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
Strong grasp of values-based training, character-building approached, and soft skills facilitation.
In-depth understanding of the socio-political and cultural context of Tripoli, particularly inter-community dynamics.
Demonstared conflict sensitivity and ability to engage respectfully across differences.
Fluent in Arabic and English
Preferred Skills and Experience
Familiarity with the historical conflict between Jabal Mohsen and Beb El Tebbeneh
Experience mentoring youth from marginalized or high-tension communities
Background in gender-sensitive approaches and psychological support, especially in addressing toxic masculinity and emotional well-being
Ability to adapt training methods to diverse learning needs and backgrounds
