Basic Assistance Assistant- BML

RESPONSIBILITIES: (Responsibilities may change per project needs):

Participates in the sensitisation, registration, verification, validation of beneficiaries for cash distribution

Validate POCs, distribute Cards/PINs, ensuring everything runs efficiently and effectively

Proper planning for the validation/distribution sites before starting the activity

Builds community capacity on safety net-related issues

Oversees control during distributions conducted by Medair

Collecting data and information in the field through interviews of key informants and community members, focus group discussions, field visits and surveys, in line with the MSNA Assessment Methodology (VASYR)

Monitors cash redemption in the designated areas

Attends and participates in relevant meetings

General  Responsibilities 

Work within Medair’s operating policies, procedures, and software systems, ensuring the use of standardized formats  

File and archive all electronic and paper documents in accordance with Medair (Data Protection) and donor guidelines 

Read, sign and comply with all Medair’s Code of Ethics policies such as the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Harassment, Child Protection, and the Prevention of Fraud

Work in cooperation with teammates and other departments 

 Other tasks as assigned 

Person Specification:

Minimum of one year of related experience 

Bachelor degree in related field (social work, data collection/management, finance)

At least 1 year of experience in working  with communities in humanitarian or development contexts, in particular with displaced or refugee populations

Experience working with refugees or Syrian communities. (Experience working in a cash-assistance project is desireable)

Good level of written and spoken English . Excellent Arabic written and spoken

Able to use smart phone

Technical aptitude for digital data collection methods

Computer literate: intermediate skills with Word and Excel

Passionate about serving the poor

Self-motivated/Enthusiasm

Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels

Ability to adapt communication strategies for different situations

Flexible and willing to perform other relevant tasks in order to facilitate the running of the project

Excellent organizational skills

Able to prioritise and time manage

Able to present clear and accurate data
