Responsibilities:
Design:
- Participate in designing and planning socio-economic needs assessments. Manage the assigned CVA activities to meet project objectives and delivery timeframes.
- Collaborate with the PM to establish SOPs, design tools, complete reports and design new project proposals.
- Contribute to the identification of stakeholders, possible alliances and new partners.
- Provide assistance, as assigned by the CVA PM, on other tasks within the scope of Medair’s humanitarian response in Lebanon.
Assessment:
- Implement and facilitate socio-economic assessments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the process.
- Communicate any further assessment needs identified through appropriate referral mechanisms.
- Conduct daily field visits as needed for activity follow-up.
- Maintain and update beneficiary databases on a regular basis.
- Monitor and ensure beneficiary data is being protected according to Medair policy.
- Contribute to the identification of service providers.
Communication:
- Liaise with local communities on site.
- Actively coordinate with project and support teams (MEAL, IM, Finance and Logistics) to ensure smooth and timely transfer of information.
- Assist in translation as needed, both written and “on the spot”.
- Ensure that any issues in project implementation are communicated to the CVA Project Manager, for timely follow up and resolution.
- Ensure professional and ethical standards are followed in any team interactions with beneficiaries, community, FSPs, and others.
- Ensure that the beneficiary complaint process is implemented.
- Actively engage with internal team members for support and to facilitate needed information sharing.
Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely internal and donor reporting of beneficiary numbers and activities, through ad hoc, weekly, monthly, quarterly, final and annual reports.
- Ensure both soft and hard copies of information are accurate and correctly stored.
- Undertake analysis of collected data using Excel, Open Data Kit (ODK) and other software.
- Ensure the provision of accurate information for the count of beneficiaries and Annual report
- Contribute to the Medair Quality Performance Indicator report.
Quality & Financial Management:
- Be aware of the potential for loss or fraud surrounding the cash distribution activities.
- Pro-actively work to prevent such occurrences by coordinating with relevant managers to adjust mechanisms and SOPs and ensure adherence to Medair guidelines on fraud prevention.
- Work within Medair’s recognized procedures in the areas of Logistics and Finance, coordinating with support staff to ensure a high level of quality and transparency at every stage of the project.
- Actively demonstrate Medair values in work and attitude.
- Remain flexible to engage in any additional tasks needed to support the successful completion of the CVA project works.
- Understand Medair internal procedures and follow accordingly, including finance, HR, and logistics.
Line Management:
- Line manage the CVA Assistant(s), including regular positive performance management.
- Support professional development for the Assistants by connecting them to trainings and resources, including Medair E-learning, Intranet, etc.
- Ensure clear delegation of tasks and promote ownership of work.
- Conduct trainings and identify development opportunities.
- Shape and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Contribute to teamwork, participating in the coordination between programs and support areas such as finance, logistics and IT in CVA interventions.
Person Specification:
- University degree and/or equivalent qualification in relevant sector.
- Degree in development, humanitarian practise, or project cycle management is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years Post-qualification professional or practical experience, with at least 1 of these years supporting projects implementing a CVA modality.
- Understanding of relevant international standards and humanitarian principles.
- Proven team management in humanitarian environments.
- Good working knowledge of georaphy and culture of Beirut.
- Strong working knowledge of Arabic and English (spoken and written).
- Excellent computer literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of ODK, ArcGIS, or other data collection and analysis software is a plus.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, team-player.
- Experience in training/mentoring personnel.
- Capacity to work under pressure, creative, flexible.
- Knowledge of training materials/tols and methds available by CaLP and other relevant platforms.
- Good numerical and report writing skills.
- Able to take initiative in project planning, organization and execution.
- Ability to encourage and motivate others.
