Clinic and Community Midwife= Zahle

Main Responsibilities:

The Midwife will be responsible for implementing the daily assigned activities of Medair health project in the field. The Midwife is to work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Senior health officer in coordination with the health manager.

  1. Program Management:

Start up and implement a community based maternal health project which includes

    1. Promotion of and referral to RH services (ANC and PNC) provided in SDC clinics
    2. Conducting post-natal visits to newly delivered women and their infants (not later than 2 weeks after birth)
    3. Promotion and awareness raising of and the availability of family planning methods and services for women in reproductive age
    4. Provision of  health promotion on reproductive health
    5. Support the SDC in reproductive health services
    6. Ensure the completion of the SDC quality indicators
    7. Work closely with the CHVs to identify pregnant women in need for ANC services and  newly delivered women and their infants in need for a PNC visits
    8. Assist in the provision of reproductive health services (e.g. insertion of IUDs) in SDC clinics if needed and requested by the health manager
    9. Ensure that field and SDC data entry forms and templates are used correctly and data is managed timely and with high quality.
    10. Coordinate with Lebanese and Syrian volunteers for RH related outreach activities.
    11. Ensure the proper follow-up of pregnant women by the SDC
    12. Submit timely weekly and monthly reports to the Senior health officer.
    13. Support the development and management of a quality health management information system, feeding data into appropriate channels (MoSA , UNHCR, MoPH).

 

  1. Staff Management:
    1. Directly supervises the SDC midwife.

 

 

  1. Logistics:
    1. Support the logistics activities for the community health portion of the project as required and delegated by the Senior health officer.
       
  2. Reporting:
    1. Provide accurate regular reports, statistics, and documented results and maintain detailed records of the overall health program activities in the field.  
    2. Review facility and community level data from the field
    3. Contribute to Medair’s monitoring and evaluation activities

       

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Clinical degree or diploma (midwifery)

-2 years post-qualification medical professional experience

At leasy 1 year management experience.

Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, Access & XLS format, Generally Tech Savvy

Team-player with good inter-personal skills, willing to share tasks and delegate

Encouraging, supportive

Aptitude for community mobilisation and engagement

Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels

Ability to adapt communication strategies for different situations

Creative, Flexible and open-minded in all matters

Primary healthcare experience. Commitment to best practice and ability to problem solve.

Clinical skills within a Primary Health Care setting
