Community Mobilizer

Role and Responsibilities Working as an important member of a diverse team, the community mobilizer support the implementation of the emergency winterization shelter project through activities such as assessments, field distribution, monitoring under the coordination of the Project Manager. Project Overview In response to the Syrian Crisis Medair’s programme is delivering emergency assistance to Syrian refugees through winterization activities in Lebanon in the sector of Shelter. Founded in 1989, Medair’s unwavering commitment continues to bring hope to the world’s most vulnerable.   Workplace Starting Date Contract Details Zahle, Lebanon ASAP until 31.03.2013   Key Activity Areas Assessment Participate in beneficiary selection Lead data collection and processing activities Distribution Assist in planning distribution activities Support logistics activities Assist in the implementation of distribution activities Complete associated beneficiary recipient documentation Communication Liaise with local communities on site Assist in translation as needed. Communicate implementation problems or issues to Project Manager Reporting Participate in the generation of the final reporting of the project via post implementation analysis   Qualifications University studies preferably in the field or social work, development or similar field Languages Strong working knowledge of Arabic and English (spoken and written) Experience / Competencies Minimum of 2 years experience in NGO or community based programming Work experience in the Central Bekaa Valley region of Lebanon Strong communication skills Strong character traits-adaptability, ability to handle stress, sensitivity, honesty, integrity
