CVA & IM/IT Assistant

Design:

  • Manage the assigned CVA (Cash and Voucher Assistance) activities to meet project objectives and delivery timeframes
  • Contribute ideas, research and planning to smooth running of current project and possible new CVA projects
  • Implement and facilitate service provider assessments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the process
  • Support in the design and testing of service provider assessments and other tools related to CVA programming
  • Actively participate in strategic planning, analysis, and follow up work for BlockChain project
  • Be willing to support across other Medair project teams as required

Information Management:

  • Manage data collected by Medair staff which includes processing, verification, validation, analysis and maintaining the databasesManage Blockchain based platform for cash activities
  • Connect and troubleshoot any error or issue to the development team
  • Participate in the development, implementation and review of information management needs and solutions
  • Update, create and maintain Dashboards using QlikSence and support with other dashboards when needed
  • Create and maintain surveys using ODK/Survey123
  • Set up on using IM tools (ODK on Android, ONA, Qlik, Aidonic…)
  • Plan data collection processes with CVA team and provide needed SOPs
  • Identify gaps and technical needs and come up with solutions for these challenges
  • Develop training materials and train users on system modules and functionalities developed, in addition to conducting pre and post training assessments to gauge the effectiveness of the trainings

Communication:

  • Liaise with local communities on site and conduct field visits as needed for project activities
  • Proactively coordinate with project and support teams (MEAL, IM/IT, Finance and Logistics) to ensure smooth and timely transfer of information
  • Assist in translation as needed, both written and “on the spot”
  • Ensure that any issues in project implementation are communicated for timely follow up and resolution
  • Ensure professional and ethical standards are followed in any team interactions with beneficiaries, community, FSPs, and others
  • Ensure that the beneficiary complaint process is implemented
  • Provide technical and professional analysis and suggestions to support high quality of on going work projects

Reporting:

  • Ensure accurate and timely internal and donor reporting of beneficiary numbers and activities, through ad hoc, weekly, monthly, quarterly, final and annual reports
  • Ensure both soft and hard copies of information are accurate and correctly stored
  • Take responsibility for and oversee actions of volunteers assigned to the team, ensuring they understand and adhere to project design and all Medair SOPs and policies

Quality & Financial Management:

  • Be aware of the potential for loss or fraud surrounding the cash distribution activities
  • Pro-actively work to prevent such occurrences by coordinating with relevant managers to adjust mechanisms and SOPs and ensure adherence to Medair guidelines on fraud prevention
  • Work within Medair’s recognized procedures in the areas of Logistics and Finance, coordinating with support staff to ensure a high level of quality and transparency at every stage of the project
  • Remain available for any additional tasks to support the successful completion of CVA projects
  • Understand Medair internal procedures and follow accordingly, including finance, HR, and logistics

Person Specification:

  • Bachelor degree in relevant sector (development, humanitarian practice, project cycle management or other relevant degree)
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in IM/IT, with at least 6 months aupporting projects implementing a CVA modality
  • Good working knowledge and georgraphy and culture of Beirut
  • Proven team management in humanitarian environments
  • Strong knowledge of Arabic and English (spoken and written)
  • Excellent computer literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, along with ODK, ONA, Qlik
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS, SPSS, or other data collection and analysis software
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic
  • Team-player with good interpersonal skills 
  • Experience of working in a multicultural team
  • Capacity to work under pressure, creative, flexilbe, ability to encourage and motivate others
  • Knowledge of training materials/tools and methods available from CaLP and other relavant platforms
  • Good numerical and report wiriting skills
