Fire And Safety Mitigation Community Trainer

Prokect preview Working as an important member of a diverse team, the employee will be responsible for: (1) community mobilization and training in informal settlements (IS), and (2) assembling and distributing emergency fire kits. In response to the Syrian Crisis and the resulting influx of refugees into Lebanon, Medair is teaching fire safety and mitigation measures to complement ongoing shelter, site planning and GIS mapping projects. Major Duties and Responsibilities Work with existing team to locate and select IS within current target locations Establish and maintain good communication lines with municipality and local leaders Establish and facilitate community groups within each IS Train these groups using a specially designed fire safety and mitigation curriculum Monitor the ongoing training in each IS through peer educators         Assist the Medair logistics department in equipment procurement Assemble kits and distribute them to focal points at each IS on completion of training Monitor use of these kits in each IS Establish worksheets to update records and monitor activities Ensure organized and updated records Be prepared to present information or reports on project activities upon request to project manager   Qualification / Experience   Academic studies in a relevant field.   Social work, development or similar field.   Data collection Person spacification   2years or more relevant work experience in community mobilisation, training or informal education.   Good working knowledge of geography and culture of the Bekaa Valley region.   NGO or community engagement   Passionate about serving the poor, self-motivated ,enthusiastic ,desire to learn   Aptitude for community mobilisation and engagement,team-player with good inter-personal skills   Good capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels   Creative, open-minded, flexible   Ability to adapt communication strategies for different situations to support others and share work loads  Ability to translate between spoken Arabic and English  Able to take initiative
