GIS Data Collection Assistant-Beirut

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Data Collection

• Perform data collection and processing activities, using smart phone technology according to Mapping SOPs
• Input into data collection plan with Data Collection Officer

• Support logistics activities
• Ensure that equipment is fully charged and well maintained on a daily basis

Communication

• Liaise with local communities, municipalities and refugees on site
• Communicate implementation problems or issues to Data Collection Officer, Project Manager, or Security Focal Point as appropriate
• Work in team with other data collection assistants, drivers, data entry assistants, GIS officer and GIS Senior officer for project implementation

Other

• Follow Medair security guidelines at all times and report any security incidents or concerns immediately
• Drive a Medair vehicle to and from project sites, following Medair vehicle policy and road regulations
• Represent Medair in informal settlements and communicate key messages as required
• Raise internal referrals for sites and individuals as appropriate, being sensitive to site and household needs
• Attend internal coordination meetings and trainings as required
• Be willing and able to visit the Medair Zahle office when necessary
• Participate in trainings with Medair mapping partners
• Adhere to the Medair Code of Ethics at all times
• Any other reasonable duties, as required by line manager
