Health Survey Consultant

Medair requires a representative Knowledge, Practice and Coverage (KPC) household survey measuring standardized health and nutrition indicators via randomised sampling to assess the current health and nutrition related knowledge, practices and service coverage of the Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese in the project areas in Beeka valley,in Lebanon. The purpose of the survey is to provide robust data acceptable to current and potential donors, in order to evaluate and adjust current implementation of programming and to support future programming priorities. Bidders must: -           Submit their quote (e.g. daily fee) by Dec. 9 -           Submit their own samples of other survey reports or relevant work -          Send quotations to logsmanager-zah@medair.org and dcd-leb@medair.org OBJECTIVES: The objective of the survey is to gather information from active project areas in Bekaa valley to provide representative data on key health-related indicators at the household level, including the following thematic areas: -       Health seeking behavior -       Diarrhoea management -       Vaccination -       Reproductive health (incl. ANC, PNC and FP) -       Breastfeeding practices -       Access to Reproductive and Psychosocial services   OUTPUTS: Conduct initial data analysis and provide written summary of provisional results within 5 working days following the survey roll out.   Conduct in-depth data analysis with EpiInfo (to include confidence intervals and statistically significant differences) and compare with prior surveys results. Write draft survey report, and finalise report following review and feedback by Medair (to be reviewed and signed off by Medair HQ Senior Health and Nutrition Advisor) – first draft 3 weeks after data collection, final draft (following Medair feedback and re-review as needed)  2 weeks after draft report review. Write and finalise comparison report for key indicators of the program, one month after data collection   All raw data, analyses (Excel and EpiInfo codes or dashboards) and databases remain the property of Medair and need to be submitted with the draft report.   ACTIVITIES: Medair expects the consultant to provide the following:   Deliver preliminary results of the survey latest one week after the end of the data collection Provide Medair with a written report (including project background, process and partnership methodology, results, discussion, conclusions and recommendations  and annexes) Provide Medair with a comparison report between 2015 and 2016 results.   METHODOLOGIES & TOOLS: Software for analysis: EpiInfo   TIMEFRAME / SCHEDULE: Preliminary data to be available within 5 working days following the implementation of the  individual survey Write up of final report with first draft available by (TBD), and the final version of the report reviewed and completed by (TBD). Write up of comparison report within one month of data collection   CONSULTANCY FEES AND TERMS OF PAYMENT The consultancy fees payable to the consultant will be (TBD). This is calculated on the basis of an  30 days of work (daily rate TBD) Half of the consultancy fee will be paid into a bank account designated by the consultant at the completion of the draft report. The remaining amount will be paid when the final version of the report has been finalised and approved by Medair.   CONSULTANT RESPONSIBILITIES Fulfil the above outputs as listed within the timeframe stated. Comply with the Medair security plan and recommendations on dress and behaviour. Provide laptop, software (EpiInfo), or any other relevant equipment for personal use and report writing (not chargeable to or reimbursable by Medair).   MEDAIR RESPONSIBILITIES Provide transport within Lebanon, and to field locations. Provide staff and tablets for data-collection. Provide dataset for analysis     DEBRIEFING At the end of the field data analysis, the consultant will arrange for a debriefing meeting with the M&E Manager, Health Project Manager and relevant project staff, to share any preliminary findings or conclusions.
