Project Overview Medair in Lebanon is implementing several projects in the WASH and Shelter sectors to assist Syrian Refugees who are fleeing the civil war in Syria.  Medair’s projects focus on the Informal Settlements in the Bekaa Valley. This position will support the NFI and Shelter Distributions, Site Improvements, GIS mapping, Health and WASH programming.  Medair Medair brings life-saving relief and rehabilitation in disasters, conflict areas, and other crises by working alongside the most vulnerable. Role and Responsibilities The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible for the operation of the M&E system for the program. He/She will directly implement and ensure that the monitoring activities are carried out in line with Medair, donor and other guidelines as well as providing feedback based on the monitoring completed. Prepare and coordinate assessments and surveys, follow-up monitoring, and evaluation exercises in order to obtain qualitative and quantitative data on the project performance indicators and objectives. Ensure that the monitoring and evaluation plan is being implemented effectively and in compliance with donor, Medair, beneficiary accountability, and other professional standards. Support local communities, outreach staff, and others in monitoring and evaluation methods and principles. Facilitate documentation (including report writing) on monitoring activities, program data, best practices, and lessons learnt to guide work plan revisions, future proposal development and project implementation. Develop and maintain effective information database on projects Maintain a transparent, honest and supportive communication structure with the Medair team, with communities, beneficiaries and donors. Be flexible, willing to assist in other areas of work as relevant and needed.
