Explanation of the position:
The case manager based in Bekaa/Baalback Hermel will contribute to the provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support services to people with MHPSS needs in the PHCC and in the community and will contribute to the build the capacities of the PHCC staff and Community Outreach Volunteers.
Main responsibilities:
- Provide appropriate assessment, case management and psycho-social support to the persons identified with mental health psychosocial needs.
- Design and regularly update the referral maps in the intervention area and refer persons in need to the relevant services.
- Support in the integration of Mental Health into Primary Health Care, including in the capacity-building of PHCC staff;
- Contribute to the development and implementation of psychosocial activities in the PHCC, and in the community, including in shelters.
- Contribute to the provision of frontliner care activities to PHCC staff, COVs, and other frontliners.
Main Activities:
- Provision of MHPSS assessment, case-management and psychosocial support to persons identified in the community and in the PHCC
- Assess the MHPSS needs of the persons referred by the PHCC staff and the Community Outreach Volunteers, and persons with MHPSS needs identified in the community.
- Provide proper case-management and regular follow-up to persons enrolled in the MHPSS services.
- Provide psychosocial support services for the persons enrolled in the MHPSS services, including safety planning.
- Refer persons in need for more specialized mental health support to the psychotherapist or other appropriate services.
- Coordinate closely with the rest of MdM team to develop individualized intervention plans.
- Implement home visits when needed for the assessment and management of specific cases.
- Participate to case discussions with the psychotherapist and coordination team.
- Design and regularly update the referral maps in the intervention area and refer persons in need to the relevant services.
- Design the service mapping in the intervention area based on the information shared on 4Ws, intersectoral coordination, and other sources, including in times of emergency.
- Regularly update the service mapping of actors available in the area and support in the development of effective internal and external referral system when needed.
- Refer the persons with MHPSS needs to the other appropriate services based on their needs.
- Coordinate with relevant GBV, child protection, education, and health services to coordinate action plans for specific service users
- In case of emergencies, identify the needs of persons affected by the emergency and refer them to appropriate services, following Psychological First Aid methodology
- Building the capacities of the PHCCs to facilitate the integration of Mental Health at Primary health care level.
- Contribute to the needs assessment of the PHCC staff (including nurses, social workers) in terms of MHPSS training.
- Provide sensitization sessions and on the job coaching to the PHCC staff (nurses, social workers) on MHPSS aspects in line with National Mental Health Program (NMHP) protocols, with the support of the psychologist and the coordination team.
- Support the PHCC staff in the safe identification, referral, and management of MH cases
- Support the PHCC in safely referring persons utilizing the appropriate referral mechanism in place.
- Contribution to the development and implementation of psychosocial activities in the PHCC, and in the community.
- Organize, co-design and co-facilitate support groups in the PHCC and in the community, including in shelters.
- Contribute to the content preparation of awareness sessions about MHPSS in the PHCC and in the community.
- Provide awareness sessions on MHPSS in the PHCC and the community including in shelters.
- Advocate for all MH related topics through participation in events organized by MdM and other partners.
- Contribution to the provision of frontliner care activities to PHCC staff, COVs, and other frontliners.
- Organize and co-facilitate cycles of support group activities targeting frontliners in collaboration with the psychologist, targeting PHCC staff, COVs, and other frontliners
- Commit to the documentation of the support group activities.
- Clinical documentation, reporting, meetings and training
- Commit to regular clinical documentation respecting deadlines.
- Report on mental health and psychosocial activities and data collection, respecting deadlines
- Participate in internal technical and non-technical meetings and training.
- Participate in external training, external meetings with key actors, NGOs/INGOs, PHCCs and hospital when requested.

Requested Competence/Skills/Profile
- University degree in Social Work is required.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in NGO work.
- Experience working within the field of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support.
- Experience providing training is desired.
- Belief in a comprehensive, holistic and recovery approach in mental health.
- Arabic and English languages are mandatory.
- Excellence in organizing, planning and prioritizing tasks.
- Ability to identify strengths and weakness and in proposing shared solutions for the continuous improvement of providing quality services.
- Strong ability to observe, analyse, report and take initiative.
- Ability to work with a team as well as to work independently.
- Clear commitment to the project thematic.
