Community Outreach Supervisor/Re-advertisement

Main responsibilities:

 

  • Manage and supervise the implementation of outreach activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and supervision for outreach officers position and COVs team
  • Monitor and evaluate outreach activities.
  • Coordinate community-based activities across MdM programs and with MdM partners

 

 

Main activities:

 

  1. Manage and supervise the implementation of outreach activities:
  • Lead and implement participatory needs assessment and community-based programming.
  • Develop outreach work plan and required methodology of the project.
  • Implement the allocated budget for outreach component (including requesting MR, transportation, advance and ROVs incentives and verification of COV’s payments)
  • Ensure implementation of activities according to project work plan.
  • Report on monthly basis the activities accomplished.
  • Arrange and participate in focus group discussions held by mental health team and or medical team.

 

  1. Provide technical guidance and supervision at the field level:
  • Develop training curricula and IEC material for outreach activities.
  • Participate in the development of SOPs for the community interventions
  • Participate in the recruitment and manage outreach officer/s
  • Guide and support outreach officer in recruiting and guiding volunteers.
  • Deliver training on health/GBV/mental health awareness to outreach volunteers.
  • Supervise, guide and support outreach officer in supervising volunteers and evaluating their performance during awareness sessions at field level volunteers during awareness sessions at field level.

  1. Monitor and evaluate outreach activities:
  • Develop monitoring tool, including feedback and complaint mechanism for outreach activities in coordination with line manager and MEAL team.
  • Conduct regular monitoring on field level.
  • Collect data and generate monitoring report on the qualitative and quantitative progress of the activities in coordination with the MEAL team.
  • Participate in the proposal writing and reporting to the donors, whenever is needed.

 

  1. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for community-based activities:

 

  • Coordinate activities with MdM programs (mental health, primary healthcare and GBV sensitization, identification and referral).
  • Identify and maintain relations with local organizations and authorities concerned with community outreach to ensure stability and ease of activities.
  • Work closely with MdM partners and provide technical guidance and training for COVs teams of MdM partners, for the implementation of the community based activities.
  • Participate in the development of partnerships with local stakeholders necessary for the implementation of the activities.
  • Represent MdM in sub working groups
  • Attend relevant workshops.
  • Participate in internal meeting of MdM.
  1. Strengthening of a community-based referral system:
  • Mapping of services in community
  • Enhance link between communities and primary healthcare centres by reinforcing referrals and continuous awareness sessions on services available.
  • Liaise with key actors in areas of MdM intervention for referral of identified cases.

Follow up with stakeholders identified regarding cases referred

Requested Profile

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work or related fields
  • 2 to 3 years of experience with an NGO in health and/or psychosocial support.
  • Good communication skills are a key factor to this position.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft word and excel.
  • Arabic and English language are mandatory.
