Deputy Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Coordinator

Main responsibilities:

 

  • Provision of Technical Support (Clinical supervision).
  • Capacity Building for the MHPSS Team, MdM team and other partner’s teams.
  • Development of trainings, SOP’s and Tools (including integration package of Health).
  • Reporting and participation in proposal writing from the technical perspective. .
  • Monitoring and Evaluation.
  • Representation and coordination.

 

 

 

Main Activities:

  1. Provision of Technical Support (Clinical supervision).
  • Provision of Clinical supervision of MdM field teams which will take place weekly. Supervisions will include individual and group supervision of the teams in each location of intervention. 
  • Participation in the technical meetings in the CMHC’s in all locations.
  • Being the technical focal point for emergency cases for the CMHC supervisors in case support is needed, and for the team.
  • Conduct regular need assessment with field staff and coordinate with MHPSS supervisors to ensure that training, supervision, and staff care is adjusted to the needs of field staff and programs.
  • Participate in the design of the MHPSS activities to meet the technical standards of MdM. 
  • Lead regular technical meetings of field teams and ensure adequate communication flow among team and with coordination on all matters relevant to the delivery of MHPSS services.
  • Ensure good communication among team is in place, and internal referral paths are established, service mapping is up to date and in place, in order to provide client-centred care.
  • Ensure client records for case follow-up are being used effectively, safeguarding client confidentiality, and responding to case follow-up needs
  • Facilitate in the review of the MHPSS program Documents.

 

  1. Capacity Building for the MHPSS Team, MdM team and other partners teams and Development of trainings, SOP’s and Tools.
  • Participate in the development of trainings, when it is needed and facilitate training to the MHPSS team with the MHPCC CO.
  • Provide training reports for the MHPSS field team in collaboration with the MHPSS Co.
  • Active participate in the development of integrated Health training packages.
  • Provide and develop trainings to other actors and partners regarding MHPSS Topics.
  • Provide and develop trainings/workshops for MdM teams.
  • In close collaboration with MHPSS Co, participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures and tools regarding MHPSS program in Lebanon.
  • Participate in the develop communication materials relevant to MHPSS activities in close collaboration with the Health Program Manager, MHPSS CO, Community outreach Supervisor and MHPSS team.

 

  1. Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Working closely with the MHPSS MEAL Manager, the Health Program Managers in order to ensure the proper implementation of the activities and the technical program needs.
  • Ensure that MEAL systems provide adequate feedback to inform program development and course corrections as necessary.
  • Produce lessons learn report and progress reports and participate in the development tools in close collaboration with the MHPSS co and the MEAL department.
  • In collaboration with the MHPSS MEAL Manager ensure the feedback of the community.
  1. Support the Management of all MHPSS program in all the locations of intervention
  • Participate to the plan, organize and monitor resources (logistics, finance, HR)
  • Manage the logistics needs for the implementation of the activities related to hers/his tasks. 

 

  1. Reporting and proposal writing
  • Submit monthly situation technical reports for the MHPSS program
  • Participate in the donor’s reporting and proposal writing.
  • Participate in the writing of internal MdM reports such assessment reports.
  • Ensure lessons learnt, and success stories from the project are documented.
  • Participate in the strategy development of the project.
  1. Coordination and representation
  • Participate in the internal MdM meeting with the MHPSS Co and the Health Program Managers.
  • Participate in MdM staff meeting.
  • Participate in other internal MdM meeting with other programs to ensure the proper implementation of the activities.
  •  Collaborate with the partner’s technical units and other local organizations or institutions.
  • Represented MdM in external meetings with local actors and other state holders when it is needed.
  1. HR
  • Participate in the recruitment process for technical staff, based on the needs.
  • Participate in the MHPSS briefing of the new MdM staff.
  • Participate in the appraisal of CMHC/CMH-SUC MHPSS supervisors, from the technical perspective.

 

  1. Other
  • Perform any other additional duty on request of his/her line manager
  • Respect MDM principles/values and MdM policies (PSEA, Child safeguarding, Fraud and corruption etc.)
  • Develop, build and maintain a team working environment.

 

 

The main responsibilities and activities of the Deputy MHPSS Coordinator can change depending on the work organization and the team composition.

Requested Profile

 

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology.
  • Additional Master degree in Public Health, Gender or Social Work or relevant field will be an asset.
  • Relevant Psychotherapy training is an asset.
  • Experience working with Substance use and Addiction.
  • TOT in IPT, PM+, mhGap will be considered an asset.
  • At least 5 years of experience working as Psychologist/Psychotherapist. 
  • At least 3 years of experience with an NGO in MHPSS Program. 
  • At least 2 years of experience in similar position.
  • Experience in provision of trainings and development of tools.
  • Experience in reporting writing.
  • Good communication skills are a key factor to this position.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft word and excel.
  • Arabic and English language are mandatory (French is an asset)
