Type of employment: Part time consultancy depending on the job tasks

Salary: Average of 2,500 USD over the consultancy period

About the project and the position

A consortium of six organizations, including Médecins du Monde (MdM), Skoun, Abaad, Amel, Embrace and Humanity and Inclusion (HI), along with National Mental Health Program (NMHP), supported by the Agence Francaise de Development (AFD), aims to improve the opportunities for individuals living in Lebanon to enjoy the best possible mental health and wellbeing. The consortium is looking for an Editor, to be employed on a consultancy basis, who will be able to write, proofread and edit communication material accessible to all the general public including newsletters, articles in media platforms, website update, social media content, etc; in line with the national mental health strategy vision and objectives. This would be on needs basis and not fixed.

 

Tasks and duties

The editors’ responsibilities include proofreading and editing the below type of material in English and Arabic as needed:

  • Articles in media channels, press releases, etc.,
  • Project reports,
  • Content for all our platforms, including our website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram,
  • Newsletter
  • Any other document and communication material related to the work activities

 

Deliverables

  • Documents completed upon each task
  • Timesheet
  • Progress report

 

Education, experience and relevant skills

  • MSc in literature, interpreter studies, Creative Writing, Journalism or related field,
  • Proven work experience as an editor or similar role for at least 5 years,
  • Proven record of excellent writing demonstrated in a professional portfolio,
  • Excellent command of grammar,
  • Excellent verbal communication skills,
  • Time-management skills, including the ability to keep to tight deadlines,
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously, and
  • Reliability and accountability.
