Field Coordinator Assistant (M/F)

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The post-holder will report directly to the
Fieldwork Coordinator based in Beirut.

 

The main role of the Fieldwork Coordinator Assistant
will be to assist in organizing all aspects involved in data collection on
mental health in settlements in the Bekaa among Syrian refugee children and
their caregivers. The FieldCo assistant will support in field preparations as
well as on-field data collection process and post-collection organization,
documentation, filing and monitoring. This will include supporting the Fieldworks
Coordinator and the fieldwork team members especially during the data
collection process as well as in communication, reporting, data cleaning in
addition to collection, storage and organization of biological samples. Training
will be provided to the post-holder to ensure that he/she develops all
necessary background information, knowledge and skills required to excel in
his/her position as well as in to learn how to meticulously organize, implement
and follow-up research projects on-field.

 

More specifically, the post-holder’s main
responsibilities include:

 

1.     Support data collection process

·       Support in preparing phase 2
data collection plans and contact families and community leaders in preparation
of/prior to data collection phase

·       Follow and Manage the logistical
needs for study tools, equipment and collection forms in link with the logistic
department

·       Assist in training of field
staff

·       Support the work of the team
leaders and interviewers on-field during data collection, as requested

·       Ensure that data is entered
into study databases on a daily basis and ensure that records are stored
securely and confidentially

·       Follow and validate
interviewers and team leaders’ 1st draft reports

·       Ensure that hair and saliva biological
samples are collected, labeled, and stored correctly. Collect and organize
samples on a weekly basis to be transferred for analysis

·       Organize and follow-up on
referrals requested, ensuring that urgent ones and handled promptly

·       Support the fieldwork teams
during data collection and provide feedback to the Fieldwork Coordinator

 

2.    
Liaison
and communication

·       Exchange information
promptly relevant to the project from the field to the Fieldwork Coordinator

·       Attend weekly or biweekly
meetings with data collection team

·       Act as a liaison between the
field workers and Fieldwork Coordinator when needed

·       Follow-up with MdM various
departments, as needed

 

3.    
Data
cleaning

·      Assist in monitoring the data
collection and processes and support in the data monitoring process on a daily
basis and provide feedback on quality control to Fieldwork coordinator

·      Support Fieldwork
Coordinator in data cleaning and management as well quality control, as
requested

 

4.    
Reporting

·       Submit weekly report on
process, progress, incidents, challenges, quality control, weekly needs, etc.

·       Support the Fieldwork Coordinator
in the weekly and monthly reporting when/if needed

·       Assist with the drafting,
editing, and preparation of correspondence, reports, summaries, presentations,
and other project related materials
