Job Purpose:
Working closely with the medical coordinator and MHPSS coordinator, through capacity building, the GBV Advisor will contribute to need assessments and the integration of a GBV component into MdM projects and its partners’ activities. The gender-based violence (GBV) advisor is based in Beirut with field visits in Bekaa, North and South.
- Assess the perceptions, needs and current capacities of MDM’s teams, consortium partner’s team, PHCC teams and community members on GBV.
- Collect and analyse secondary available data related to GBV
- Conduct an assessment on the perceptions and current state of knowledge and prac- tices, needs, gaps and barriers regarding GBV among consortium staff and PHCC staff
- Guide and train the teams participating in the GBV perception assessments and ensure the availability of tools for the need’s assessment;
- Ensure the writing of quality report of the GBV assessment conducted in coordination with the Medical Coordinator and MHPSS Coordinator
- Mainstream and develop a capacity-building plan accordingly
- In coordination with relevant team members for MDM and partner NGOs, prepare a GBV training plan according to the needs identified in the assessment
- Develop GBV training and supervision materials, including facilitators guidelines to be used by field teams
- Ensure refreshers and/or supervision sessions
- Support MdM partner’s health facilities to integrate the response to GBV in their activities
- Assess the quality of the services provided to GBV survivors (respect of the guiding prin- ciples, respect of international protocols, compliance with MdM values)
- Participate in the design of context tailored program activities, based on GBV perception assessment and quality of the service assessment outcome in coordination with the tech- nical program team, including GBV prevention, response, risk mitigation women’s empow- erment, and capacity building
- provide technical support and guidance for the implementation of GBV related activities
- Provide case discussions when needed
- Community sensitization and awareness
- Develop a training plan, including training material and curricula for outreach volunteers
- Conduct the trainings and/or provide training of trainers
- Participate in the development of Information Education and Communication (IEC) tools to sensitize communities on GBV and the services available in MdM supported centers and referral facilities
- Participate in meetings with GBV actors, MdM teams (including GBV referent at MdM HQ) and in coordination meetings with consortium partners
- Data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Ensure implementation and monitoring of the GBV programs in close coordination with the technical team
- Ensure the availability of tools for GBV related data collection.
- Monitoring the activities and the results achieved against the project indicators Provide internal and external reports to the Medical coordinator at mission level. Reports will be also shared with the GBV referent at HQ level.

Profile:
- Senior social worker, senior case manager, nurse, midwife…
- 3 to 5 proven experience in the field of GBV case management, prevention
- Previous experience working with NGOs
- Previous experience creating curriculum of training and providing capacity building
- 2 to 5 years of experience in GBV programming
- Knowledge in gender approach
- Experience in community-based activities implementation
- Very good knowledge of written and spoken Arabic and English. (French is a plus)
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Good analytical skills
- Good communication
- Ability to work with a team as well as to work independently
