Medical Doctor Mru

  Medecins du Monde is an international humanitarian organization providing medical care to vulnerable populations affected by war, natural disasters, disease, famine, poverty or exclusion. Originally established in France in 1980, the Doctors of the World international network now has offices in 15 countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas. 

 Main responsibilities:   Strengthen surveillance system of 3 PHC centers in the Bekaa Area Monitor and Analyse collected health data Perform quick outbreak response Coordinate epidemic outbreaks with other partners (MoH, WHO, etc.) Implement preventive measures to avoid epidemic outbreaks Surveillance of special communicable diseases like TB, Leishmaniosis, etc. Manage and organise the team in the best outfit.       Main responsibilities and activities of the medical doctor can change according to the organization of the mobile response unit and to the composition of the team     Main activities:   1.      Strengthen surveillance system of 3 PHC Centres   Analyze existing surveillance system of PHC Centres Follow up MoH/WHO currently drafted national surveillance standards for epidemic outbreaks Adopt in cooperation with PHC staff, Amel medical coordinator and MdM medical coordinator assistant documentation and surveillance system according to national guidelines.   2.      Monitor and Analyse collected health data   Monitor collected data through surveillance system of each center Weekly analysis of collected data with MdM medical coordination team and detection of possible communicable disease outbreaks Feedback and Communication with PHC staff on monitored and analyzed data Ongoing development and improvement of documentation and surveillance system   3.      Perform quick outbreak response   In case of suspected outbreak, organize and perform field visit for further in-depth analysis of the situation In case suspected outbreak is confirmed, planning of adequate outbreak emergency response   4.      Coordinate epidemic outbreaks with other partners (MoH, WHO, INGO, NGO, etc.)   Share surveillance data with partners in health cluster meetings Inform relevant partners in case of epidemic outbreak detection Coordinate outbreak response with relevant partners   5.      Implement preventive measures to avoid epidemic outbreaks   Follow-up outbreak to make sure it is under control Analyze and identify possible risk factors that led to the outbreak Try in collaboration with relevant partners to reduce risk factors as preventive measure In case risk factors are identified in other places, preventive measures should be considered to be implemented before outbreak occurs   6.      Surveillance of special communicable diseases like TB, Leishmaniosis, etc.   Apart from epidemic outbreaks, assist PHC staff with suspected cases of Tuberculosis, Leishmaniosis, Measles, HIV, Hep B and C, etc. Support in diagnosing, treatment and or referral of above mentioned pathologies Implement preventive measures in the Centers in case of suspected air-transmitted communicable diseases (TB)   7.      Manage and organise the team in the best outfit.   You will work in cooperation with a nurse and a community health worker It is crucial that hierarchies are kept flat and the joint effort is participatory   8.      AOB if required for the implementation of the program         Requested Competences/Skills/Profile     Qualified Medical Doctor (MBBS) Arabic language is mandatory. Theoretical knowledge in public health is preferred Experience in public health sector is an asset Experience working with NGO is helpful, but not mandatory. High Motivation for challenging and complex task and good common sense Strong skills in communication, mediation and cooperation Ability and joy to be in good relationship with colleagues and patients Ability to cope with difficult security context. Capacity to live in basic condition in the field     Behaviour     To behave with self-restraint at all times and respect the dignity of the patients. To be able to work as part of a team and participate in all activities of the mobile response unit. To believe in models of equity, human rights and neutrality/impartiality
