Psychologist for MH Integration-Beqaa

Main responsibilities:

Main responsibilities and activities of the psychologist can change according to the organization of the work and to the composition of the team.

Main activities:

  1. Facilitate and monitor the integration of MHPSS related services into PHCC (Primary Health Care Centers).
  • Assess the needs of PHCCs staff trained on mhGAP for MHPSS capacity-building.
  • Design and implement a capacity-building action plan for the PHCC staff to improve their ability to provide MHPSS services, including providing sensitization/training sessions on different topics.
  • Regularly coordinate with the social worker/case manager for the implementation of training and capacity-building activities.
  • Provide on the job-coaching and guidance to the PHCC staff in the implementation of MHPSS services.
  • Facilitate case discussions with PHCC staff to provide guidance and supervision.
  • Monitor the quality of the implementation of MHPSS services by the PHCC staff
  • Monitor, in collaboration with the social worker, the filling of the tools by the PHCCs staff
  • Participate in the trainings of integration of MHPSS into PHCCs in close cooperation with Medical team and GBV.
  1. Actively participate in the development and implementation of psycho-social activities, including group support.
  • Design psychosocial activities based on the community needs, including support group curriculum and SOPs to be implemented in the community and in the PHCC.
  • Implement in collaboration of the social worker support groups and other psychosocial activities in the community and in the PHCC.
  • Use the set tools and SOPs to monitor the progress of the psychosocial activities.
  1. Contribution to awareness raising activities in the community and the PHCC,
  • Contribute to the preparation of awareness sessions and material about MHPSS
  • Support the social worker in the provision of awareness sessions in the waiting areas of PHCs
  • Support in the training of the outreach team and other stakeholders on MHPSS issues.
  1. Support in the utilization of the referral system between community, PHCC and specialized services.
  • Assist in the development of effective referral systems between the PHCC and specialized services.
  1. Assist in the development and implementation of preventive activities, and various events related to MHPSS.
  • Contribute to the assessment of the MHPSS needs in the community
  • Contribute to the development of new MHPSS activities
  • Contribute to the organization of various events related to MHPSS
  1. Reporting, meetings and documentation
  • Daily data collection and entry, respecting deadlines.
  • Monthly reporting MHPSS activities.
  • Participate in and take the minutes of internal meetings and individual meetings.
  • Participate in regular meetings with key actors, NGOs/INGOs and PHC, hospital.
  • Participate in network/coordination meetings concerning mental health, while maintaining accurate coordination with the CMHC supervisor.
  • Participate in internal MDM meetings (all staff meeting, team meetings

Requested Competence/Skills/Profile

 MA in Clinical Psychology
 Holds a MoPH License to practice
 2 to 3 years of experience in clinical psychology
 Experience in working with NGO is preferred.
 Experience in working with PHCCs is preferred.
 Experience in providing training is preferred
 Believes in a comprehensive and holistic approach towards mental health.
 Arabic and English languages are mandatory.
 Excellence in organizing, planning and prioritizing tasks.
 Ability to identify strengths and weakness and in proposing shared solutions for the continuous improvement of providing quality services.
 Strong ability to observe, analyse, report and take initiative.
 Ability to work with a team as well as to work independently.
 Ability to seek, collect, and critically analyse data and information needed to achieve the tasks.
 Clear commitment in the project thematic.
 Ability to communicate any technical or non-technical topic with clarity and to share any important project information with the team.
 Proficiency with Microsoft word and excel.
 Ability to self-reflect on your work, to recognize what needs improvement and to propose solutions.
