Main responsibilities:
- Properly assess, diagnose, support and treat mental health cases;
- Contribute to response to emergencies through the provision of PFA.
- Coordinate with the case management team and the supervisor for the implementation of all Mental Health interventions and activities.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of psycho-social activities in the community, including group support.
- Assist in the development and implementation of preventive activities, and various events related to MHPSS.
- Support in the integration of mental health (MH) into primary health care (PHC)
Main responsibilities and activities of the Psychotherapists can change according to the organization of the work and to the composition of the team.
Main activities:
Diagnosis and treatment of mental health cases in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Support the case manager in assessing the person’s condition.
- Properly assess, diagnose, support and provide appropriate mental health support and/or treatment through individual and group therapy, and psycho-education to all beneficiaries in need.
- Ensure proper follow up, including home visits and psychoeducation.
- Coordinate with the case manager to set a treatment plan for service-users through regular case discussion, with the technical supervision of MdM MH technical coordination team.
- Ensure that emergency cases are properly taken care of, referred and followed.
- Commit with clinical documentation of all individual and other MH activities.
- Follow up all the procedures and SoP’s for patient flow, discharge and treatment.
Development of mental health activities in the community
- Assist in the assessment of mental health needs and proposition of interventions in the community.
- Design, organize and co-facilitate support groups in the community on a monthly basis (of various nationalities, genders and ages)
- Participate in establishing and implementing innovative PSS activities in the PHCC and the community.
- When requested and in collaboration with the community outreach supervisor, participate to awareness sessions in informal tented settlements,ITS/other shelters/streets to support Community outreach volunteers (COVs)
- Support in the training of the case management team, outreach team and other stakeholders on MHPSS issues.
- Take active role in different visits to the center while promoting the services.
Support in the integration of MH into primary health care (PHC)
- Conduct sensitization sessions and build the capacities off PHCC staff about MHPSS topics
- Participate in the preparation of awareness/training sessions about MH for staff at PHCs and other health facilities.
- Support the case manager in the provision of awareness sessions in the waiting areas of PHCs
- Facilitate community of practice in the PHCC to discuss MH case between PHCC staff
- Provide on the job coaching, supervision and shadowing for the PHCC staff trained on MHGap
Utilization of the referral system between community and PHCC as well as to secondary treatment level
- Assist in the development of effective referral systems internally and externally.
- In collaboration with the MHPSS case management team, utilize the referral system to other needed services
Reporting, meetings and documentation
- Daily data collection and entry, respecting deadlines.
- Monthly reporting on mental health activities.
- Participate in and take the minutes of internal meetings and individual meetings.
- Participate in regular meetings with key actors, NGOs/INGOs and PHC, hospital.
- Participate in network/coordination meetings concerning mental health, while maintaining accurate coordination with the MHPSS supervisor.
- Participate in internal MdM meetings (all staff meeting, team meetings)

Requested Competence/Skills/Profile
- MA in Clinical Psychology
- Holds Licence to practice
- 2 to 3 years of experience in clinical psychology
- Practitioner skills in therapy (trained in IPT and/or EMDR and/or CBT, motivational interviewing, etc.)
- Follows individual supervision
- Believes in a comprehensive and holistic approach towards positive mental health.
- Arabic and English languages are mandatory.
- Experience working with NGO is preferred.
- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to identify strengths and weakness and in proposing shared solutions for the continuous improvement of providing quality services.
- Ability to work daily in Al Qaa
- Strong ability to observe, analyse, report and take initiative.
- Ability to work with a team as well as to work independently.
- Ability to seek, collect, and critically analyse data and information needed to achieve the tasks.
- Clear commitment in the project thematic.
- Ability to communicate any technical or non-technical topic with clarity and to share any important project information with the team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft word and excel.
- Ability to self-reflect on your work, to recognize what needs improvement and to propose solutions.
