- Strategy and planning
- Provide leadership and strategic vision for MSF Lebanon’s content production;
- Develop policies and standards, including quality standards, for video and cross-media contents;
- Identify, propose and develop strategies and formats to maximize MSF Lebanon’s content production;
- Support the Head of Communications in the definition of the annual plan, monitor its implementation and ensure strategic objectives are met;
- Define, manage and monitor the audiovisual and creative content budget and expenses/investments to optimize resources;
- Foresee future needs and generate capacity to fulfill future institutional challenges;
- Stimulate the spirit and capacity for creative thinking;
- Elaborate comprehensive statistics and reports based on analytics to identify risks, opportunities and priorities for MSF Lebanon’s audiovisual strategies;
- Provide support and guidance on audiovisual content production when required;
- Ensure a pool of external providers for both production or post-production work;
- Organize visits by to MSF projects to film or, when relevant, contract external cameramen or film crews;
- Develop and maintain a network of key actors to contact in order to distribute and ensure the usage of the digital and audiovisual content;
- Coordination
- Meet regularly with other departments (i.e. Field Human Resources team and Medical team) to coordinate production of online and offline contents that meets our common objectivities and priorities;
- Identify and produce audiovisual and cross-media contents for public communication purposes in coordination with colleagues in the region and the movement;
- Oversee the outsourcing of audiovisual and cross-media contents production, ensuring coherence and synergies in the production of both online and offline contents for public communications, safeguarding MSF’s identity;
- Ensure application of policies and standards for audiovisual contents, as well as those for offline contents;
- Participate in MSF’s international working groups;
- Coordinate and network with audiovisual managers/teams in MSF operational centers and offices;
- Ensure uploading of MSF Lebanon’s contents into MSF’s international Media Data-Base;
- HR Management
- Line-manage Multimedia Producer and Engagement and Outreach Officer
- Organize the work and production planning of the entire communications team, supervise and provide support to team members to ensure the achievement of identified priorities;
- Organize and chair weekly team meetings and bi-laterals with each member;
- Guarantee the Unit’s performance during holidays, sick leaves or else;
Identify multimedia training needs within MSF Lebanon communications staff and occasionally, organize internal training / briefing sessions
REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrable ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Familiar with new audiovisual formats
- Experience managing complex audiovisual projects including with external contractors
- Experience developing audiovisual strategies within a large and complex organisation
- Experience managing and following up a budget
- Previous experience in the international humanitarian sector an advantage
- Fluent in English. Arabic preferable. French an asset
- MSF experience an asset.
- Excellent command of video editing tools: Final Cut Pro, Avid, Premiere and Adobe Creative Suite essential
- Knowledge of compressing techniques for video and audio for web use.
- Knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, Flash, and other graphics editing software.
- Good writing skills for scripts, captions and subtitling
- Flexibility and ability to work under tight deadlines.
