Main objective
The Medical Data Processing Officer/ Transcriber Consultant will convert audio or video recordings into written text format and translate them by producing accurate and timely transcriptions that are essential for data analysis, documentation, and research purposes into written text format according to MSF protocols. Also, to maintain confidentiality while producing the appropriate, updated documents for the medical team.
Specific objectives
- Transcribe audio or video recordings verbatim, capturing all spoken words, background noises, and non-verbal cues (including nuances, accents, and technical terms) accurately following the provided guidelines.
- Ensure all data transcribed and translated is consistently accurate and complete upon the agreed timeframe and agreed specified format and to the specific transcription guidelines provided by the research project team.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with the research project team regarding any clarifications or issues that arise during the transcription process.
- Assist in the compilation and preparation of any additional documentation or reports related to the transcription process, as requested by the research project team.
- Maintain open and effective communication channels, providing regular progress updates, seeking clarification when needed, and promptly addressing any concerns or challenges that may arise.
- Meeting set deadlines and delivering completed transcriptions within the agreed-upon timeframe.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the content of the transcriptions and any sensitive information they may come across during their work while complying with the organization's data protection policies and adhere to ethical standards regarding data privacy and security.
Deliverables: The consultant will be paid based on achievements of deliverables following the provided support agreed upon with the Epidemiologist according to the following:
The transcriber shall meet set deadlines and deliver completed transcribed and translated reports to the research team within the agreed-upon timeframe. The reports will than undergo a quality check by the Epidemiologist and the Regional Health Promotion for approval and clearance.
Qualification required:
Education:
Essential, higher education in social sciences, humanities, social work or equivalent 2 years of work experience data entry in humanitarian settings.
Experience:
Essential : Essential 2 years’ experience in data entry/transcription/reporting
Languages:
Fluency in Arabic and English required
Knowledge
Strong attention to detail
Ability to capture including nuances, accents, and technical terms.
Familiarity with transcription software and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and efficiently, while also being a team player
