Main objective
MSF is creating three pools of Mental health psychosocial support (MHPSS) consultants, each designated for one of the following locations ( North of Lebanon, South of Lebanon and Beirut) and to conduct regular (Individual/Group) Mental Health and Psychosocial Support sessions for MSF staff according to MSF principles and standards in order to enhance staff’s wellbeing and team’s cohesion while maintaining a healthy work environment.
Scope of Work
-Provide individual and/or group counseling sessions for MSF staff in projects (including on site in project locations) and offices.
-Provide individual psychological support for MSF staff participating in group sessions when the need is identified, and individual session is requested by the staff member.
- Provide specific psychosocial support for staff that are providing mental health and psychosocial support care for sexual and gender-based violence survivors.
-Individual sessions’ modality to be agreed upon between MSF staff & MH specialist (face to face in the psychologists’ cabinet and/or via a virtual platform)
-Inform the staff health team in Lebanon when encountering cases where:
- Work adaptation is advised
- Threat on the person and/or their environment is prominent
-Support the group in understanding internal stimuli.
-Ensure a safe and trustful environment where staff can share various perspectives and potential conflicts.
-Help staff develop new strategies for co-working & professionally growing together.
-Familiarize staff with healthy coping skills in terms of psycho educational activities/counselling.
-Regularly update the staff Health team -Lebanon on the overall progress of the group support.
-Provide psychosocial when needed in specific emergency context.
-Submit request for any needed materials or visuals prior to each session.
Specific Deliverables:
- Provide Medical Department a detailed plan of each session before delivery of the group session.
- Submit a written report of each group session within 48 hours which must contain a brief description of the session held, Consultants’ feedback and recommendations.
- Share with staff health adequate report on individual sessions within 2 weeks following the intervention.
The consultant will be paid based on achievements of deliverables following the provided support agreed upon with the Staff Health Team according to the following :
- -Individual Sessions (45-60 minutes)
- -Group Sessions (90-120 minutes)
Qualification required:
- Essential 2-3 years’ experience minimum as a Psychologist.
- Familiar or willing to familiarize with MSF procedures, protocols.
- Essential training completion in evidence-based therapy (EMDR, CBT, etc.)
- Having previous experience in providing staff support in humanitarian field (Group & individual sessions) is an added value.
- Essential Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.
- Essential license to practice as a clinical psychologist by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health
- Ability to be flexible with time and work schedule and location within Lebanon
- Ability to maintain professional and ethical standards
- Able to maintain confidentiality and to handle sensitive information in a professional manner.
