Accountabilities

  • Knowing, promoting, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control, security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment.
  • Maintain the confidentiality, medical ethics and respectful communication towards the patients seeking for medical services at MSF clinic
  • Organizing and carrying out nursing care and procedures according to medical prescriptions and MSF protocols
  • Performing the duties of different roles of nursing such as Triage nurse, Post consultation, Referral nurse at BH while collaborating with a multi- disciplinary team consist of medical doctors, psychologist, social workers etc.
  • Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary.
  • Maintaining clear and accurate documentation (patient files, line lists and registers) to ensure optimum written communication
  • Participating in the department-related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (quality & its functioning, storage conditions, pharmacy order, follow-up of expired drugs inventories, stock takes of medicines and material at every team changeover ensuring no material is taken out of nursing area/wards without prior authorisation, etc.)
  • Perform cleaning and minor maintenance for biomedical equipment while following the user manual, protocols and alert supervisor in case of malfunctioning.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

  • To do the Triage of acute , NCD patients based on the severity criteria , vital signs , MH scale assessment(PHQ2/GAD2) and Facilitating referrals to appropriate services: to SW/ GP/ MH etc.
  • Supporting medical examinations and assisting doctors if needed  
  • To Identify patients in need of PSEC and conduct PSEC session for eligible patients
  • Regular monitoring and recording of Blood pressure values for the cohort of Hypertensive patients
  • Blood sugar measurement for DM patients who are visiting the GP or having PSEC session and client information should be filled in a tally sheet and received by NTS on a monthly basis included
  • Medication reconciliation sheet should be filled in a proper way for NCD patients
  • Attend training conducted by NTS or another staff SW / MD / DPS etc.
  • Administering urine dipstick and pregnancy tests for patients.
  • Conduct subsidy process and check receipts on a monthly basis by the data focal point before conducting validation by MSF (NTS/NCD MD)
  • The nurse should prepare requested file by NTS for chart review for subsidy for Auditing on a monthly basis
  • Medication administration post consultation to the patients and giving the correct guidance.
  • Very basic first aid Wound care and dressing changes if needed
  • To ensure for Waste management at the MMU sites
  • Prepare patient files and registers needed for the day
  • Check equipment functionality (BP machine, glucometer, thermometer, pulse oximeter).
  • Prepare needed materials for disinfection for surfaces and medical devices
  • Working with multidisciplinary team of doctor, social worker, psyxhologist , community health educator and ensuring good collaboration with them.

Requirements

Education

  • Nursing diploma or Technical Diploma (LT = license technique and accomplishment of 3 years minimum education)
  • MoPH’s license to practice in Lebanon

 

 

Experience

  • Essential 2 years of previous experience in a similar position.
  • Desirable previous experience in humanitarian organizations.
  • Desirable demonstrable experience in supervising and training others in a team setting

Knowledge                       

  • Expertise in triage, emergency care, referrals and wound care management.
  • Adherence to nursing guidelines, universal hygiene standards, and infection control measures.
  • Ability to educate patients and caregivers about medical procedures, treatments, and follow-ups.

Language

Full Proficiency in Arabic and English is a must
