- Monitor and report on key issues (security, risk, etc.) to the Project Coordinator and provide support in analysing contextual information, through a sound knowledge of counterparts, in different administrations in order to improve decision making processes.
- File and update field contacts and correspondence (with other NGOs, UN agencies, local authorities, media, etc) in order to ensure information sources accuracy and its availability on regular basis.
- Assist the Project Coordinator in the drafting of correspondences with authorities and counterparts (government officials, UN agencies, NGOs, etc.) in order to ensure fluent and accurate communication flows
- Assist the Project Coordinator in Internal and External Communication sessions and events about MSF (for National staff, the Ministry of Health staff, as well as local authorities) in order to improve awareness and public opinion adhesion.
- Ensures the continuity of relations with local actors and keeps updated the list of contacts.
- Organize advocacy contacts and appointments for the Project Coordinator with local authorities and partners to ensure the continuity of relations with local actors and involved counterparts.
- Execute clerk-related activities as well as prepare and conduct briefings on the project context to new employees in order to facilitate their integration onboard and within the project environment.
- Translate documents and act as an interpreter when needed
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
- Establishes an effective communication with the different stakeholders present in North Lebanon( North/Akkar Governorate & Palestinian camps ) (other (I)NGOs, authorities, UN agencies) under the supervision of the PC.
- Facilitates the meetings of PC with Lebanese authorities, institutions, organisations, Palestinian faction representatives and informal stakeholders.
- Ensures a good support to all Project team regarding planning and organization of meetings.
- Continuous update of mapping local & international NGOs/civil society working in the north and Akkar governorates.
- Continuous update of the list of external contacts and stakeholders.
- Report to PC on any security incidents in the area of operation and report it on the common team security group.
- Update on a weekly basis project team on context and security incidents.
- With the PC, check for clearance for MSF team before moving especially for the mobile activities at the northern border and Palestinian camps.
- Attend the monthly security meeting with the north actors.
- Timely update of the security logbook and monthly update of MSF Geoapp for the incidents happening in North Lebanon.
- Contributes to complete the context and security part of the project monthly sitrep.
- Compile and write the external meetings minutes.
Requirements
Education
Desirable, university degree. Social sciences (Political science, Intl: law, anthropology)
Experience
Desirable two years previous experience in similar jobs in the field of humanitarian aid with MSF or other NGOs
Knowledge
Competencies
Preferable knowledge of north and Akkar governorates + familiarity with palestinian camps in the north .
computer litteracy essential ( word, excel), good communication skills ( verbal and written)
