Ambulance Driverx2

Main Purpose: Perform the tasks of transporting patients and goods in an Ambulance, ensuring its technical and safety conditions and respecting the country’s traffic rules and MSF security rules in order to provide a safe, smooth and efficient service. Main Responsibilities: - Assist and ensure correct loading and unloading of patients and material from the vehicle. - Drive the patients safely to the hospitals accompanied with the referral Nurse. Wait for the Referral Nurse to finalize the patient’s admission into the hospital and accompany her/him back to the WHC/PHC in Shatila. - Assist and ensure the correct loading and unloading of material from the vehicle In particular:  Submit the documents to the receiver of the goods. Check the status of delivered goods. Return the duly completed documents to Logistics. Ensure that the goods have the necessary documents.  - Ensure that the vehicle is always in good conditions following instructions and guidelines of Logbook and carry out a hand over if another uses the vehicle. - Ensure that all vehicle documents and the driver’s driving license are valid and in the vehicle. - Make sure that the vehicle is adequately fueled, maintained, cleaned, sanitary and always stocked with medical supplies. -Daily check the technical conditions of the assigned vehicle as per the MSF logbook ensure it can be driven in perfect condition. -Ensure the security of patients/passengers in the vehicle, driving carefully, observing traffic Rules and speed limits in the country as well as MSF security rules in order to avoid car accidents. -Ensure that the Ambulance vehicle is used solely for MSF activities. -Ensure that all passengers: Have all necessary papers in order before travelling, and ensuring non MSF staff sign disclaimers of responsibility before using the vehicle. Are arms free and that no weapons of any kind are carried into the Ambulance vehicle. -Inform the base log of any incident involving the transportation of passengers, and report immediately any car accident. -Know and respect the security rules related to vehicle movements, specifically those related to customs, checkpoints and roadblocks. Communicate arrivals/departures with project security focal point as per security rules. -Ambulance Driver should not drink any alcohol during his duty. Working hours: Do rotational duties when necessary to assure 24/24 hours activity (including night duty and weekends). Ability to cope with stress. Ready to work in an unstable context (war context)
