Scope of responsibilities: Implement mental health activities within the MSF mission Carry out mental health care . Function responsibilities: Mental health activities With a strong sense of neutrality and confidentiality Evaluate the psychological needs of the patient Diagnose any psychiatric or psychological disorder Define the best response (treatment and strategy) to answer these psychological needs Refer patients to a medical doctor  (preferably a psychiatrist) if chemotherapy is needed Carry out psychological care (psychological support or psychotherapy) according to MSF protocols  Coordination and training Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and ensure a good flow of communication of any relevant information Increase awarness and train health structures staff to the “triage” and reference of patients to the relevant health professional when necessary  Actively participate in clinical and medical meetings as well as community events/activities. Monitoring, analysis and reporting Participate in the development of the plan of action Actively monitor and report mental health activities (correctly fill registers, statistics and produce reports). Propose analyse of these statistics. Report immediately all important information linked to the clinical psychologist activities that should be communicate to the hierarchy  Participate to data collection, analysis and reporting, put in place patients registers and statistics while ensuring confidentiality. Specific activities linked to context Participate to the organisation and implementation of structured trainings on mental health issues for the health professionals of organisations MSF will be collaborating with in the area Participate to the organisation and coordination of preventive/awareness activities within the community together with the mental health team (e.g. mental health presentations, awareness activities, etc.) Carry out when required a therapeutic education of the patient (and family) using a patient based approach. Perform home visits when required and appropriate Responsibilities to MSF General knowledge of MSF Has a general understanding of the association, its functioning, structure and values (charter). Is aware of MSF’s objectives and activities in general and in the working context. Participates actively in meetings and trainings Co-operation with other departments Is aware of security rules and situation in the field at all time. Is aware of activities of other departments and respect specific rules and procedures. Provides support when necessary. Information source Help the comprehension of general issues regarding social and political context through sharing of information Translates documents and/or interprets conversation when necessary
