Community Health Promoter-(Sabra, Shatila And Bourj Al Barajneh) - 4 Positions

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision you will be responsible for health promotion educational and awareness activities in refugee camps in Sabra, Shatila and Bourj Al Barajneh in Beirut. You will be promoting MSF medical services, organizing individual and group awareness session about health problems (chronic disease, family planning, hygiene …) in order to improve the health condition of the patients, their families and communities they live in.   MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Actively promote the availability of MSF medical services in Shatila (Primary health centre and Women health centre). Conduct daily individual and group health promotion awareness sessions for patients and their families in Sabra, Shatila and Bourj Al Barajneh. Participate in the creation of health promotion educational material (brochures, flyers, posters, videos …). Create inventive ways for communicating messages (songs, games, short theatre plays …). Establish and maintain contacts with camp leaders, social partners, NGOs working in Sabra, Shatila and Bourj Al Barajneh. Collect and report to the medical team all type of information related to specific health and living conditions in Sabra, Shatila and Bourj Al Barajneh. Report health promotion activities on daily basis. On request perform other additional activities given by the Health promotion supervisor in order to allow the medical activities to be carried out optimally and to support MSF medical team.   REQUIREMENTS: Work experience Minimum 1 year of previous experience in similar position is required (health promotion, nursing, social or community work, teaching). Very good knowledge of refugee context and current situation in Sabra, Shatila and Bourj Al Barajneh is required. Familiarity with chronic diseases (diabetes, high blood pressures, asthma …), respiratory and intestinal infections, skin diseases, basic hygiene … Previous work experiences with MSF or other NGOs are highly desirable.   Personal qualities Excellent dynamic communicator Punctual, organised and reliable Flexible and able to work in multicultural and sometimes stressful environment Very good management skills
