Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders/أطباء بلا حدود, is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people in around 70 countries who are affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. Where necessary, we set up sanitation systems, supply safe drinking water, and distribute relief to assist survival. Working overseas with (MSF) means that you will go to work in projects in any of the countries where MSF works. Each project you go to will require a certain period of commitment (6 to 12 months). It also means that you will need the flexibility to adjust to unfamiliar food, living quarters, pace of life, and languages. Projects may be located in the most remote places in the world, often in harsh environments with limited resources and amenities. Regardless of where you go, it might be a very different lifestyle. Working in an unfamiliar culture inevitably involves challenges in communication and perceptions. Being aware that people may not act or think like you, accepting this, and being able to adapt your own behaviors if required, is of utmost importance when working in the field. This creates a shared sense of purpose, sparking ingenuity and resourcefulness in getting things done, and a lot of spontaneous fun. http://msf-azg.be/en   Identification Name: Electrician   In close collaboration with the logistics team of the health structure, as an electrician you ensure the quality and safety of the electrical installation in all MSF facilities (office, health structures, warehouses, etc.).  Implement the technical means necessary to set up the electrical installation in our missions in compliance with the security and reliability rules. Ensure the technical training of the technical national staff in order to ensure the functioning and the maintenance of the installation Ensure the assessment necessary to have an overview of the electrical installations of all MSF facilities (hospital, house, health centers, etc.) Make the most urgent recommendations and carry out the electrical rehabilitation Maintain the project files for the compliance of the installations Identify the local technical players and make them part of the project; i.e. training, organization, relation with the local companies/suppliers & supervision of the technical MSF national staff working on the project Ensure the coordination and the completion of the work and the setup of the necessary equipment as defined in the each project Better the conditions of use of the equipment & ensure the users are made aware of their responsibilities Organize the technical services in charge of electrical installations and equipment (technical teams, maintenance and reparation procedures, tooling and accessories, workshop, technical stock).        Education : Diploma in electricity or in electrical engineering   General requirements: Technical competences Ability to organize, follow up and manage a worksite Ability to develop electrical projects Ability to train & manage human resources Ability to work in a team but also autonomously   Other requirements: Medical ethics, Cultural sensitivity, Altruism, Openness and flexibility, Ability to live and work as a team, Ability to manage stress, Availability: MSF requires a minimum of a 2 years commitment.   Experience: 2 years of relevant professional experience.   Languages: Arabic, English and/or French.
