Field Coordinator Assistant

The Field Coordinator Assistant supports the Field Coordinator on the administrative part of coordination tasks, ensuring the relation with all local stakeholders, through : • Assisting the Field coordinator in updating and analysing the humanitarian context in the field. • Assisting the Field Coordinator on external and internal communications, meetings • Facilitating contacts with local authorities • Assuring the role of project translator; both written and oral. • Revise relevant press & online publications ; produce weekly reports • Security follow-up: monitor and report regularly on key issues to the Field Co and assist him/her in the analysis of information • Assuring good knowledge and maintaining both formal an informal network of all stakeholders (authorities, administration, armed forces, NGOs, local networks) • File field contacts (other NGOs, UN agencies, local authorities, etc) and verify that they are up-to-date and easily accessible on regular basis • Update general information on the context for MSF internal documents • Assist in the drafting of correspondences with government officials, UN agencies, NGOs, etc. • Follow-up of formal communication from the project to the capital and vice versa. • Ensure regular communication with local authorities • Assist the Field Coordinator in information sessions about MSF for National staff, as well as local authorities and organisations. • Inform the Field Co on regular basis on the project activities and participate in coordination meetings. • Assist in drafting of the monthly Sit Rep. • Assuming the role of translator for the Medical Team Leader or any other non-speaking Arabic member of the team. • Assuring translation of all needed documents into Arabic, and vice versa.
