Medical Doctor - Bekaa Valley – Back-Up

-Scope of responsibility: Ensure and organise medical activities for patients and/or a population attending the primary health care in ALL MSF clinics throughout the Bekaa Valley in accordance to MSF protocols and to universal hygiene standards taking into consideration quality and continuity of care. Perform consultations in the out patient department and as well the antenatal care follow up for pregnant women in accordance to MSF protocols and guidelines (if needed). General consultations during “women’s days”. Ensure supervision and training of the team, if needed.   -Function responsibilities include: Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnosis and prevention. Pharmacy and medical equipment management. If necessary, prescribe relevant treatment according to MSF guidelines and protocols. Ensure a medical follow-up of quality and, if necessary (and possible), refer to other health facilities. Apply hygiene standards in all medical activities. Monitor the clinic pharmacy: availability of the relevant drugs and medical material. As the team leader of the clinic team, supervise, motivate and train the team, in particular staff carrying out medical activities, if needed. Collect data about morbidities and references, and submit them on daily/weekly/monthly or any other basis when requested. Monitor the medical activities, analyse them in the context, with a public health approach and make propositions of possible evolution if necessary.

-Experience required:
• 3 - 5 years in medical field (experience in dispensaries, government or private hospitals).
• Previous experience with non-governmental organizations as an MD is a strong asset.

-Required qualification:
• Bachelor degree in general medicine (Diploma).
• Licensed to practice medicine in Lebanon (certified from ministry of health).
• Member of Lebanese order of physicians.
• Fluent English / Arabic.

-Personal qualification:
• Good Organisation skills.
• Flexibility.
• Ability to work with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural people.
• Open-minded, good communication skills, ability to listen, diplomacy.
