Mental Health Community Educator

MAIN PURPOSE Connecting and Implementing MHPSS activities inside of community in order to raise their knowledge and skills on MH topics. This to have an impact on MH related suffering (mostly in prevention) and to identify and reduce the gap between the needs and availability of Mental Health services.   ACCOUNTABILITIES Identify psycho-social needs of community through a MHPSS assessment. Respond to the community mental health needs, according to the scope of the project, by giving direct psycho-social  - support and/or refer to other social actors, in order to actively contribute to the improvement of their quality of living Keep records and statistic updated, reporting any mental health and social activity, in order to prioritize and develop appropriate programs or projects. Participate in the creation of any material needed for the activities of MHPSS. Take care of few psycho-social services facilities, materials and equipment in order to ensure continuity. Inform the community about Mental Health and deliver information on our program according to the mental health priorities.  Implement activities of psycho-education and awareness (sessions in schools, churches, community), under the indications and supervision of the MH Supervisor this should address prevention as well. Make the link with the health promoter in the collection of information related to health and living conditions in our target population and their impact on mental health. This should be translated in targeting the most vulnerable people of our target population. Establish and maintain contacts with social partners, including other NGO’s, governmental health services that can provide answers to psycho-social  and social problems. Refer patients to Mental Health  professionals whenever necessary in order to provide the most appropriate treatment Work in close collaboration with psychologist in order to ensure that appropriate terminology and behavior are being used during visit in the field Inform the MH supervisor about any issues or problems that may arise in the field  about mental health stigmatization or misunderstand  in order to provide the best possible solution for such conception
