Mental Health Counselor- Bekaa Valley

- Scope of responsibility: Carry out Psycho-social related services in the programme in accordance with MSF standards in order to provide the most appropriate mental health support for patients - Accountabilities:   With a strong sense of neutrality and confidentiality , Identify the psychosocial needs for patients Diagnose any psychiatric or psychological disorder Define the best response to answer these psychological needs Carry out psychological care (Mental health counselling ) according to MSF protocols Provide individual and group sessions  Refer patients to other NGOs whenever needed and according to MSF guidelines, protocols and criteria Increase awareness on Mental Health issues Take active part in trainings and support the Mental Health supervisor’s activities when necessary in doing sensitization for MSF staff  about mental health /psychosocial issues Discuss difficulties and problems in counselling with Mental Health supervisor Actively monitor and report mental health activities (correctly fill registers, statistics and produce reports). Propose analysis of these statistics. Report immediately all important information linked to the Mental Health Counsellor activities that should be communicated to the hierarchy Ensure the patient’s related information is kept confidential Participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss special cases with other counsellors or other medical staff members, preserving confidentiality Inform line manager of any problem of any kind arising during the day-to-day activities.
