Midwife Back-Up – Bekaa Valley

-Scope of responsibility: Back-up of MSF midwifes in case of sickness or leaves, preferably in all 4 clinics, but can be discussed. Implementation of all components of the sexual & reproductive health policy in the MSF mission   -Function responsibilities include: Ensure the implementation and continuity of antenatal and postnatal care, family planning, obstetrical care, neonatal and comprehensive abortion care, management of victims of sexual violence, reproductive tract infections and Fistula care Provide effective diagnosis and treatment for patients with STIs (and their partners) Arrange the follow up of the pregnant women in the ANC including laboratory investigation and referral to specialist as required Drug Management Collaborate in the management of Sexual Violence cases Ensure hygiene and sterilization criteria are met according to MSF specifications. Properly follow up all newborn babies, informing mothers and relatives about importance of breast feeding, vaccination and possible complications resulting from harmful traditional practices. Supervise that administrative procedures of admissions and hospitalizations According to MSF protocols in force, conduct normal deliveries independently. Manage obstetric emergencies; identify cases needing referral and send them in time
