-Function responsibilities include: Medical activities and patient care In delivery room 1.1 Care for patient: Checking every patient in labour to see status and provide a diagnosis. Following the progress of labour (and filling out the partograph). Carrying out the follow up of deliveries. Practising uterus revisions and Perform episiotomy and perineal repair if necessary. Updating patients’ follow up forms. 1.2 Care for newborns: Taking newborns and delivering the first neo-natal medical acts. Carrying out surveillance of parameters following the protocol in use. Detecting and providing timely treatment of neonatal infections, hypoglycaemia of the newborn, hyper-hypothermia, etc. Referring all anomalies identified in newborns to the doctor. Performing neonatal resuscitation, and vaccination according to availability.   2. In other departments (Female IPD) Ensuring the daily follow up of deliveries and patients hospitalised in IPD for a gynaecological and/or obstetric problems. Taking part in the doctor’s round and informing him/her of all changes in the clinical state of the patients. Advising mothers on the follow up of newborns.   Patient care •Arrange the follow up of the pregnant women in pre delivery room. •ensure that the pregnant women receive the comprehensive reproductive health package provided by MSF. •Know, apply and make sure universal hygiene standards and security rules are respected. •Follow the consumption of drugs on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. •Prepare the weekly orders for the drugs to the dispensary from the central pharmacy in an organized manner.   Management •Work in collaboration with other team members within the clinic (nurse, GP, other midwifes). •Assist in the supervision, motivation and training of the maternity team. •Participate actively in the recording, monitoring and reporting of medical activities. •Report immediately to the technical referent any problem arising in the service, especially the loss/ robbery/damage of medical equipment or medicines.   Working hours : 12 hours – Day and Night shifts.
