Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in 1971. Today, MSF provides independent, impartial assistance in more than 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, exclusion from health care, or natural disasters. MSF in Lebanon currently has 3 projects mainly on primary health care and mental health, in Saida, Tripoli and the Bekaa valley. -Function responsibilities include: Midwifery activities Is responsible of for all midwifery activities (carry out pre-conceptual care, antenatal care, post-partum care, neonatal care) Abortion: treatment of unsafe abortion complications as required STI (Sexually transmitted infection) Provide effective diagnosis and treatment for patients with STIs (and their partners) Family planning: Ensure a proper provision of family planning to the population (women in reproductive age, as part of postnatal care, etc) experience in family planning is required i.e. advantages and disadvantages of the different family planning techniques Patient care: Arrange the follow up of the pregnant women in the ANC including laboratory investigation and referral to specialist as required; organize referral to appropriate labour and delivery services for the pregnant woman. Pharmacy and medical equipment management Follow the consumption of drugs on daily/weekly/monthly basis. Prepare the weekly orders for the drugs to the dispensary from the central pharmacy in an organized manner and according to consumption to avoid stock ruptures.   EPI (expanded program of immunisation) management The midwife will also act as EPI (expanded program of immunisation) coordinator at the clinic. As such, she will be responsible for the safe and medically appropriate provision of vaccines to patients, based on MSF and Lebanese protocol. She will have responsibility for ensuring appropriate cold chain procedures are maintained on site at the clinic, and will assist in the recording and reporting of EPI activities to MoH (Ministry of Health) as required. As part of EPI coordination, will have sound knowledge of emergency procedures required in the case of adverse reaction to immunization, and ensure that requirements related to treatment of same are always available and accessible when EPI is undertaken

 Diploma or university degree in Nursing (Certificate is required)
